Perfect place in La Fortuna
Room was big and spacious and the hot springs were steps away. Cutest animals awaited us on our bed made From towels and flowers from the garden. Had an amazing 50th birthday with my best friends. The bar tenders were fabulous at the swim up hot springs bar.

Hot springs worth the stay!!
It is a beautiful resort at the foot of volcán Arsenal. Although the lobby and receptionist lacked a welcoming feeling, all other resort staff were very kind and service oriented. The room was very spacious and clean with large tile flooring. There layout of the many thermal spring and regular pools is beautiful, and although expansive, you feel like you’re in your own oasis. Incredibly smart layout. Although we just relaxed and did sightseeing in our short two day stay, their are many adventures on property and nearby.

Good value and Beautiful Property
The grounds and property of the resort are magnificent. It's beautiful everywhere you look. The rooms are outdated and badly need renovation. We also had a few creepy crawler bugs--most of which we were not familiar with, get into the room. It wasn't surprising because there is gap all around the door to the room for them to enter. One of the walls in the bedroom was peeling from water damage and looks like it had been that way for quite some time. The pools are very nice, but there are not enough lounge chairs and can get very crowded and loud because there are a lot of families with children staying there. It's best to go early in the morning if you prefer a little quiet. The Spa is nice and the massage room, while cool with a fan, had doors open to a small private deck and the fresh air breeze coming in was lovely. The breakfast is ok, but it gets pretty old after seven days. It's pretty much the same every day with little variety throughout the week. However, it's a great location--easy to get into town with a car or Uber, and it's a very good value, which makes it possible for so many families to stay there. The best part of the stay was the wonderful staff. They were very responsive and attentive and did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We weren't thrilled when we first arrived. But we were sad to leave when it came time to go.

We were in this place for the first time. Our friends recommended it to us. We had a great time. Everything was top notch. Thanks to the workers, and whoever created this place. It's paradise. We will definitely visit this place again and recommend it to everyone.

Beware child upcharge
We were charged an extra $200 for our 3-night stay because we had two kids with us and the resort collects an extra $37 per night per child fee. This fee was NOT included in the amount we paid to make the booking on Hotels.com and was a total shock to us at check-in. It seems this comes from a technical fault in the booking process. Although we correctly entered the ages of our teenage children on Hotels.com, Los Lagos said that the booking was made for two "infants." So they required the extra fee at check-in We called Hotels.com, and they were unwilling/unable to help with the situation, despite the fact that we did nothing wrong and the fault was mostly with their backend. While I understand Los Lagos' position, it seemed really strict and greedy to be unwilling to comp at least part of this extra fee. Be sure to VERY CAREFULLY read the tricky fine print, and confirm directly with the hotel what has and hasn't been paid for. I am very frustrated that Hotels.com will not take ownership of its mistakes/poor backend system, and also with Los Lagos for having the policies in place that create a situation that feels very much like a bait-and-switch. As for the hotel itself: Good: Breakfast, natural springs pools, pool bar OK: Room (no way to get back in from the patio if you close the door to keep the bugs out!) Bad: Long uphill walk to rooms or you have to have them call the van to drive you up. They will not allow ubers or tourist shuttles past the gate. Sloooow wifi.

This is an excellent hotel with beautiful grounds and tons of activities on-site, which made the stay so fun! The room was big and clean with decent choices for dining in their dining hall. The best part is their hot springs, spa and the superfast and fun zipline right on their property, not to mention their walkways around their garden with so many beautiful animals and to a view point for the volcano. Overall, highly recommend this hotel and if I go back there I'd revisit again.

This was by far the best place we stayed at in Costa Rica The property is spread out with hiking trails and a look out to Arenal. Our room was spacious with a nice patio, and a breakfast buffet was included. There is also a gift shop. The highlight are the hot springs and pools which are at various temperatures. There are two slides were were a hit with the kids. Located close to the La Fortuna waterfall and coffee/chocolate tours. Highly recommend.
