Throwback to a different time
Very cute vintage/historic hotel with a ton of character!! The best was the vintage elevator that required manual opening of two metal doors! Rooms are small because it’s old but I loved the vibes!!

8/10 Very good

Route 66 historic western hotel
A funky historic hotel with lots of character…and a warm fireplace in the great room. Beds were comfortable, we were in a smaller (king size) bedroom and both the room and bathroom were rather small. The restaurant next door was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. We will return.

6/10 Good

Not family friendly with a non smoking room
The cold draft entering through the windows was not comfortable that i could not sleep, the water leaks in the bathroom during the shower prevented us all from showering, one bathroom for the multiple beds caused us to utilize the bathrooms downstairs, no extra blanket for the pull out. One door would not lock to the balcony, it was not safe, and the aroma of drugs entering the room along with the cold air was disgusting. I was disappointed with all the above and had hoped an amazing stay.

Problems in bar?
Love El Rancho Hotel so booked again on my trip to AZ Not sure what was going on this time with hotel security. Went to the bar and was informed they could Only serve 2 drinks per person. If the hotel is having a problem with the locals they need to figure out better plan where paying hotel guest can enjoy there stay and not be limited.

Fun and nice.
Cool, old , beautiful hotel. I loved it. I have wanted to stay here for years, and finally had the opportunity to do so. As funky and fun as I had imagined. Restaurant and bar were good, room was good, bathroom was tiny, but all updated and was fine for a solo traveler. Stay in the annex for the newer, larger rooms, but stay in the historic building for the experience. Will stay again.

Wonderful historic hotel
This is a wonderful historic hotel in Gallup. The original rooms are not the most spacious rooms but they are updated and clean. I love the history behind the hotel and looking at all the memorabilia on the walls. The staff is super nice!
