Reservation was made through hotels.com. Guest called hotel to inform that due to flight delay arrival at hotel would be at 1 :30 am. Hotel front desk informed that 1 reservation was not paid and 2 it would be cancelled at midnight unless payment was made and a CC provided before midnight. Customer rep from hotels.com called and confirmed reservation was paid and a CC was provided before arrival of guest for incidentals. Hotel ended up charging CC provided 2 charges for the total of cost of room. Upon check out Guest asked hotel to remove those charges. As of today chsrges still on CC statement.

We booked this hotel based on the reviews. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. First of all the front desk receptionist needs customer service training. We had an issue with the toilet not flushing so I called from our room to get it fixed. While he was on the phone with me, he was also helping another guest check in. He got annoyed that I asked him 3-4 questions regarding the issue, and said that he had a guest in front of him that he needed to help. We felt the other guest was more important than our issue. Finally the issue with the toilet got resolved, but as we hadn’t been to our room for a couple of hours, I stopped by at the front desk to ask if it was fixed. That same employee called someone and they said it had been resolved. He then said on the phone, while we were standing in front of him ‘the guests came here at the front desk to ask me without even checking in their room first.” So he was talking about us to another employee while we were standing right in front of him. We also had an issue with the heat not working, and the same employee first said someone would be there at 11am to fix it. Then it changed to 1pm, then 2pm, then 3pm. Finally it was fixed at 5pm. This employee should not be working there. He said he was part time, but that’s no excuse. The breakfast ladies were very professional even though you could tell they were stressed out running back and forth as it was a very busy morning and the food kept running out. Housekeeping ladies were also great.

I am a very savvy world traveler, and I know a good hotel when I see it. Hyatt House Sterling/Dulles is a fine hotel, but there are some simple things you can do to improve customer experience. For starters, you are digitally intrusive in your heavy reliance of scanning of QR codes, which are notoriously easy to hack. Also, a traveler should be able to stroll into their hotel room and instantly turn on their TV to relax, via either live TV, cable/satellite or streaming. You have chosen to once again intrude on your guest's digital privacy and security by requiring software to be downloaded in order to watch anything on the television set. I tried to do this on 2 different devices but was unsuccessful. It's pretty lame that I had no TV for my stay. I also used your WiFi and was greatly alarmed that there is no password requirement, making it a very very risky undertaking to use it. On another note, I did not receive expected room service on Tuesday, 2/25. Lastly, I went to checkout in-person at your front desk at 6AM 2/26, because my company (like many others) requires instantaneous receipts for business travel. Your desk clerk refused to give me a hard copy receipt, promising that I would receive one quickly by e-mail. That was over 8 hours ago, I have no receipt and you have put me in a bind with my company. Is it too much to ask to provide a hard copy receipt to any guest who asks for one? Do not stay here.
Paying for parking? Why..the parking lot was half full most of the time. Free breakfast? If you like stale and cold food. Only one day out of three could we even eat the bagels otherwise eggs were runny and cold, tater tots (passing for a hash brown) were cold and cold French toast! What a waste of money…I knew we should’ve stayed at a Hampton Inn.
