The hotel was clean and comfortable. It’s about 15 minute ride from downtown historic Charleston. They do have a shuttle that runs every hour. We were going to take it once during our stay but it left about 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. The staff was not super friendly.

Excellent views and amenities!
We had a room with a great view and enjoyed being able to sit outside on the patio. The decor in the room was unique and we also loved the fireplace. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Having a deep tub in the bathroom, separate from the shower was wonderful. We also enjoyed the heated pool. Having a free shuttle to downtown was very beneficial. If we could recommend one thing, it would be updates to the hot tub. The hot tub only had a few jets and the water was very low the majority of the time.

Meh...at best
The Amenities here are centered around partying, boozing, alcohol (4 bars, water taxi, and shuttle to downtown. A gym next door in the sister resort and that's all) If that's what you're looking for then this is your place. If you're looking for serenity and white glove service look elsewhere. No breakfast will be given to you. You have to go next door and purchase breakfast from the seafood restaurant. The room that was advertised was not what was given to us. We were advertised a room with a kitchenette which is what should have been given to us. The weather was awful, so they were extremely slow. Maybe 10 cars in the parking lot. We were given 2 free softdrinks from the marina store next door which was nice and 2 free bottle waters and there was a coffee machine in the lobby. No sundries, no snacks available for purchase, no continental breakfast. Nothing. So, make sure you take plenty of snacks that don't need refrigeration in case they stick you in a room without a refrigerator or microwave. Honestly, there wasn't anything at this "resort" that I haven't experienced at a regular hotel. In fact, a regular hotel has more amenities than this place since they provide at least a continental breakfast. All in all, the experience was mediocre at best. I wouldn't stay again, it was a total waste of money. The next nights we stayed at Middleton Place Inn. Wow! Talk about an upgrade and being blown out of the water with fantastic service!

Nice location with a nice view. Our particular room had an issue with the air conditioner. Initially it was broken and then repaired. But then the thermostat would not work and it was either off and warm or on and very cold. Called engineer and they said they couldn't fix it.
