Brilliant location.
2 night stay as part of a road trip, and this was our final two nights in California. Brilliant location and everything is within walking distance. Some great restaurants and bars nearby. The bar in hotel is great and the bar staff excellent. Only minor complaint would be that the shower was nowhere near hot enough! But the room was wonderful and the bed very, very comfortable. Parking is exorbitantly expensive, so don’t bring a car!

Great stay at Pierside.
My husband and I had spent the night before a long flight out of LAX. We ere upgraded to a larger room which we appreciated. The view was not good but we appreciated the extra space. The hotel was very quiet. Easily walkable to check out Santa Monica Pier and then go out for drinks and dinner. Plenty of shopping in the area as well. The hotel staff was very welcoming.

Unhappy
It was one of the worse nights sleeps I have ever had. The person staying in the room next to us had there T.V. Blasting the entire night. The wall must be paper thin. Neither of us got any sleep at all. We ended up packing our stuff and leaving 4 hours earlier than intended. It ruined our plans for the following day as well. We had planned on hanging out on the beach and spending the day walking around. Stead we were so tired we drove hours home just to finally get some sleep. The staff could not have cared less when we informed them of our early check out.

Lovely Santa Monica
Plenty of room in the king room with the bed and sofa bed and a chase type lounger. Super close to the Pier and the promenade. Couldn’t ask for anything else!!!!!!

A little bit better than okay.
Be aware that the photos of the rooms make them look much larger than they really are. Our room was sufficient, but hardly as spacious as it was shown on Hotels.com. Very soft beds—comfy at first, but too mushy to provide spinal support. Linens seemed clean and fresh. The coffee situation left much to be desired. A keurig-type machine tucked into a cabinet that had to be removed to set up. Scant beverage supplies and it produced very weak coffee. Not drinkable for even a low-level coffee snob like me. Filtered water and ice is supposed to be available from a machine on every floor, but the one our floor was broken. Maybe other floors too, because bottled water was available at the front desk. Parking for $65 a night? Nope. I parked across the street for $20. We got a 20% discount card for a single use at the hotel restaurant. Even with 20% off, it was be more expensive than many local options. Overall, our stay was serviceable. No major complaints. Staff was congenial. But it really felt overpriced for what it was. I guess you’re paying for the location—right across from Santa Monica pier. NO reflection on the hotel: Santa Monica may not be the safest place to stroll around after hours. Somebody shot and killed a homeless person just a block away at 1:30 this morning.

Exceptional hotel staff
We escaped to the hotel after being evacuated from the fire. The hotel was one of the very few NOT to jack up their rates to take advantage of people leaving. Our check in was incredibly compassionate. They waived the pet fees and resort fees. They even had a small gift for our dog. I was blown away by the kindness of the staff while we were escaping the fire. I am so grateful to this wonderful hotel and everyone in it for being a safe place to us to go and showing us such wonderful and attentive service.

I loved the free yoga on the beach! Plus you were able to take a record player plus a few albums up to your room - that was fun! They had plenty of things you take to the beach (towels, umbrellas, chairs) and I spotted some bicycles that I assume you could also use. So much to do, but we only had a few days. The location and vibe was exactly where we wanted to be. I would definitely go back!
