Dont stay here.
The place was sketchy. It was under renovation which we were not informed of before attending. Our room had poor blinds and no curtains so light git in easily. The hot tub was out of service as well. I asked about a discount and was rebuffed immediately.

Noise issues but staff were amazing.
I have stayed here before and same as before they really need to update the beds. They all have very big dents in them. I was aware of this and didn’t deter me from trying again. Hot tub was out of service but pool was running (didn’t end up using). The staff were beyond friendly and helpful, room was clean.
The issue was the room we got (quiet week night) was ground level window facing the MacDonalds. We went to bed at 10 and were SHOCKED awake that someone had set the hotel alarm clock to go off right at midnight…. Okay not a big deal go back to bed after unplugging it.
2 hours later we are awoken again to heavy loud techno music that didn’t stop. At first we thought it was just a car grabbing Mac Donald’s eating quick then taking off. No.
There was a group of homeless people at least 5 between the Mac Donald’s and sandman parking lot outside our window drinking.15 feet from them in the sushi place parking lot was a big truck with a woman in it, she had her music blasted, doing what appeared to be drugs and possibly selling drugs to the homeless people. She sat in the truck with the music blasted until almost 5am.
The front desk staff I spoke to around 3am was very very sorry but since they weren’t on sandman property they couldn’t do anything and urged us to call the police since their hands were tied. In the morning I asked the front desk to tell the manager they shouldn't be booking people in those rooms if those are known issues.. they were.

Cold as ice
Our room was clean and nicely appointed, however on our arrival the floor felt very cold. As it was -15C outside we thought it just needed to warm up. After a few hours and still no warmer I discovered the weather stripping around the AC was missing and very cold air was coming into the room. As we were ready for bed by then we made the best of it and stayed there. I asked to be refunded the next morning and was partially refunded after talking to the manager.
We had payed for a comfortable room which wasn't delivered.

Ok stay
The stay overall was pretty good, considering they are in the middle of a Renovation, the pool was unavailable, we stayed there back in June and it was also down then which was disappointing, as i had my grandson with me on this trip and he loves the pool. We may consider a different option next trip.

Rooms dated and carpets leave socks dirty.Key cards did not work on multiple occasions causing frequent visits to front desk. When called maintenance to resolve a plumbing issue, no one came. Homeless person found passed out in the stairwell. No pillows for the pull out couch.

Checked in and went to our room (after 5pm) and it had not been serviced from the previous people. Went back down and they moved us into the penthouse...which is nothing special. Basically a similar room. Had a cracked out guy hovering around the carded doors. So we made sure to close it prior to leaving it. Not a safe feeling

Surrounding area is full of homeless people. They were in the dumpsters going through the renovation items left in them. One of our vehicles we’re broken into during our stay. Windows smashed & items stolen. We were out of town & because of a long weekend we had no service outlets to help us. There were 6 vehicles damaged. I would not stay here again.
