Needs a retrofit!!!

The location was amazing for walking to downtown right at the foot of the Congress street bridge. Never need to use an Uber. But unfortunately this place is falling apart :( Upon our arrival, the room we were staying in had NO air conditioning!!! The atrium was 10 degrees cooler. Don the engineer went above and beyond to remedy the situation. Also, only 1 out of 3 elevators was working, and apparently that had been an issue for 2 months. We always try to stay in Embassy Suites wherever we go, but this particular location is currently in the worst shape of any we have ever stayed at. Hopefully this will be fixed before we return to Austin?

Find a different place to stay.

Honestly, this hotel cost way more than it is worth. Outdated rooms, lobby and pool. They only had 1 working elevator while I was there and the stairs were difficult to locate. Pool was freezing cold. Drink choices in the bar were terrible, stunningly terrible. Super disappointed in this hotel.

Be aware!

Great stay! Just be careful with hotel parking. I was told they would charge our card for parking but I was not told until following day that I was supposed to swipe my room card for parking and not get a ticket. If you get that ticket they are hesitant on giving you that $48 parking fee back since they don’t own it. That would have been awful if they didn’t credit my card cuz I sure did not want to pay twice! The happy hour and breakfast are both awesome tho! We got our monies worth with that additional benefit.

My son has been experiencing nightmares and bedwetting since the traumatic incident involving the SWAT team on our floor. The entire situation unfolded directly across from our room, and it was an incredibly distressing experience for both of us.

Ok but I wouldn’t stay again

Only one elevator was working when we arrived and was not fixed while we were there, the key cards kept deactivating, it was very difficult to get in and out of the parking garage because of the key cards, the food was ok, staff were friendly for the most part, parking is so expensive! It was ok for a couple of nights but I would not stay there again.

Average for me

Phone was not plugged in on arrival. Cords behind were filthy. Cobwebs at console outside the lifts. Only one lift worked for the ENTIRE stay. Missed happy hour by 5min due to the bottle neck at lifts and was told no sorry too late!! Asked at front desk for directions to visitors center and guy looked at me like a deer in headlights. Got directions from another but was wrong because visitor’s center changed locations. Breakfast was average. Crowd seemed rough/ ghetto at times.

I have been all around the world and this is my FAVORITE hotel. The happy hour snacks were WELL worth the price. Not to mention the suites. The only downside is the parking is $50 a day. So that was a shock.

Sitting at the base of the S. Congress bridge and on the side of the river closest to shopping, the location couldn't be beat, but the hotel left a lot to be desired. Only one elevator (of 3) worked with no way to access interior stairs from the lobby, house-keeping didn't clean our room until the fourth of a five day stay, our room smelled musty, the pull-out sofa was stained, and the wall-paper was also stained and peeling.
