Avoid at all costs!
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was subpar. To make matters worse, the walls were paper-thin. I could hear everything from the neighboring rooms and hallway, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. For the price I paid, I expected at least basic cleanliness and decent service, but this hotel failed on all fronts.

Great location and clean.
Hotel was nice and the room was better than we thought. Loved that it was close to everything. beds were nice, clean, and soft. AC/heater worked great. Shower handle did fall but shower still worked, although water does go all over the flow due to not a great barrier between floor and shower, but a towel is offered for the floor. The only negatives i have were our door. it was extremely loud and had a hard time closing and barley locked but still worked for us and the other negative was the elevator. it was so to slow and there is only 1 big elevator and the other 2 elevators were to slow and were always being worked on. had to take the stairs most of the time.

Good location but that’s all
The only good thing I have to say about the hotel is the location. I stayed here for a solo trip deciding to try a local hotel versus a major chain. My first night I called the front desk twice to send someone to look at my heater. It was constantly blowing cool air and the room was not getting warm. Both times they said they would send someone quick and no one ever came. Pretty sure the thermostat is broken. But that’s not even the worst part. My second day I was in my room lying down when someone opened my room door, turned the light on, and when I said something they immediately closed the door and left. I got up and looked out the door and they had ran off that fast. I called the front desk and asked if they’ve given someone a key to my room. All they would say is yes and that the system was showing me checked out by mistake and they apologize. Like it was no big deal. Imagine if the person didn’t just leave. Imagine if I wasn’t in the room. The person would’ve had access to all of my belongings. Needless to say I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience.

HORRIBLE STAY
This was BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!! The hotel was disgusting. One of the elevators was broken so it took over 25 minutes to get to your room because the Elevator only fits 3-4 people. The hot water was out our first day so we had to shower in the cold in New York in the MARCH. The hotel did not inform or apologize for this. The phone did not work in the room so we could call for anything. Everyone we left the room our room keys deactivated and we had to walk 5 floors down to change them. We changed our keys 6 times in 2 nights. The staff was very rude and inconsiderate. They did not care for all our issues. They simply said we are trying to fix everything. They did not ONCE offer anything to make us comfortable, not extra towels, a different room with hot water, a room with a better key detector, a room where the Europeans were not smoking cigarettes in their room. There is nothing to say but THIS PLACE IS THE WORST HOTEL IN ALL NEW YORK!!!

We had two rooms for the size of our group. Only 1 of 2 slow elevators worked the whole stay. Lines were exceptionally long for the elevator because of this. We didn’t have working heat, and our second night we lost hot water too. I requested a refund. The hotel said they would put it in a note for hotels.com to be able to refund me. Hotels.com emailed saying they tried to reach the property, but never could get an answer over a weeks time. Eventually hotels.com credited me in points about half of what was promised as a refund. Disappointing all around.

There were 4 elevators for 15 floors and only 1 worked. The hating was on all day every day and sleeping there felt like suffocating, we couldn't move very much inside the room because we would start sweating. Service and staff were overall good

Comfy NYC hotel.
Stayed for 1 night as passing through. Initially on checking in I was a bit annoyed with the reception staff. He was rude and abrupt and they were talking over me. However the checkout staff on the followijgnday were delightful and helped me out with an issue with my card. Was very happy. The room was nice and clean. The comfiest bed I have ever slept on.

Theater Trip
We picked this hotel based on the proximity to the Walter Kerr Theater, and it sure was close! Lovely location, good room, and all around a wondrful time! They were doing construction on the elevators when I was there, but it didn't hinder the experience at all!
