Marvelous Stay!!
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Thon Hotel Cecil. The young women at reception were fantastic and so kind and helpful. We had a couple minor issues with our room we didn't notice until the first morning, but when we told reception, they gave us a time they would look at the problems (also informed we could switch rooms if the issues weren't solvable). We walked around Oslo for a while, and when we returned, the minor issues were fixed. Couldn't be happier with the communication and assistance. The breakfast in the morning was phenomenal also. Absolutely 10/10 and if we get the chance to come back to Oslo again, would definitely stay here.

Well located hotel
The hotel is well located in Oslo within walking distance of many of the main attractions. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and check in was straightforward. We were not informed that there was a guest lounge at the hotel. The room we had (714) was small with little circulation space or storage and looked in to the central atrium space. The range of food available at breakfast was excellent.

Best stay in Oslo
Can’t be any happier with our stay at Thon Cecil. Location is fantastic, direct train from airport to National Theatre Station & just a 5-7 mins straight road to the hotel. Hotel is conveniently located next to a Christmas market & walkable to many popular spots. Breakfast spread is great too, and light dinner on weekdays are good way to end the day. While room is small, zero complains since its value for money.

Very happy with our choice of hotel in terms of location, comfort, facilities and most important,quiet for sleeping. Excellent location in the city center. Everything is walkable. Trams are about a block away for the farther-flung attractions. If you’re traveling with a friend, you will probably be glad if you upgrade to a larger room to have a bit more bedroom and bathroom space.

Small rooms and oddly shaped little room for suitcases. The shower door had a one inch gap that created a flood on the floor every time it was used. The breakfast is good but the evening light meal is more of a snack and not much to choose from. The hotel is in an excellent location and walkable to everything from shopping to the royal palace to the opera house and museums.

Everything about this property makes it a solo traveller’s paradise; the breakfast and evening snacking options are just perfect . I wud however make a suggestion for considering including some hot breakfast items like pancake or their famous waffles with brown cheese or porridge etc and be inclusive of lactose intolerant people . The one single thing which was v uncomfortable for me was the climate control system which maintained >= 22.9 C temp inside the room at all times making it sweaty and difficult to breathe at times specially to menopausal women of this world with no openable window to manage regulating colder in-room temp .other than this excellent choice of stay !

A reasonably good hotel in a great location.
The hotel is in a great location and is smartly done out. Breakfast is very good. The evening meal was free Monday to Thursday but is a light buffet. Our only real complaint is that the room was too hot with no way of cooling it down. Would go back again though.
