Leaving aside the novelty value, this is an excellent hotel. Superbly appointed room with excellent bathroom and everything works perfectly: near-silent but efficient climate control, faultless WiFi connectivity and TV casting.
The restaurant is a treat, creative and beautifully presented menu choices and fabulous breakfast choices.
Most of all the staff made the visit special; attentive, warm, courteous and helpful.

I travel all over the country for work and I have to say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.Not only for the history and the premium look of the hotel but the service, the staff, breakfast, room quality, bathroom shower where all with spot on. If you are needing to stay near here make sure it’s at this hotel, thank me later 5 stars.

The hotel is amazing in so many ways. The history of the place, that you can see when you walk around, and read the plaques, the staff are very professional and helpful, the rooms are so well done, and gorgeous to stay in, with comfy beds meaning a great nights sleep every night! Great choice at Breakfast to start your day. Can't wait to come back again!

What a brilliant hotel, converted Jail with pristine decor and top quality staff. Definitely worth staying there is you're in the area, only a fewiles drive from Eden Project.

Not cheap but superb value.
This hotel is not cheap, but it is excellent value for money. The level of comfort, service and the superb food make it an absolute delight to stay. It will rival many "luxury" London hotels.
