We arrived to the hotel at 3.30pm (Our check in time was due to be at 3pm). On arrival we were greeted and told to wait in lobby as our room would be ready shortly (10 minutes or so according to the front desk staff). The lobby began to get busy with couples checking in for their stay. They were promptly seen too and room was ready for them upon there arrival. 35 to 40 minutes passed before we were contacted again by the front desk to tell us our room was finally ready. They apologised for the wait. As we arrived to our room we noticed that cleaners were still inside and bed wasn't made (room not ready). Back down to reception again and after another apology we were told we could "mosey" around the city for some time and the room would be ready on our return. We walked around the city for 30 minutes before arriving back. We were told the room was now ready. Upon entering the room my girlfriend and I both found a displeasing smell. We both thought that the room was cleaned in a rush. The bathroom and furnishings of the room was very nice. But we found it to be very dusty and had to open the window to let in some fresh air. We were very disappointed at how we were treated by the staff. Our room should have been ready to check in at 3pm. We should have been treated to a drink at the bar for having to wait for over an hour for our room to be ready or additional extras such as breakfast. Our stay was well below par of what we expected from a 5 star hotel.

Fantastic location! Walking distance to King John's Castle (a must see). The staff were very attentive and super friendly. If you can, get the executive suite. They are newly refurbished (very modern) and have stunning views. Food was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel.
