Hotel was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. The free breakfast was fine, although some of the offerings were a bit off (mashed potatoes? Hot dogs?). Our room was quite noisy- there were parties in the street.

Ok stay.

Took up to 10 minutes to get hot water. Noise from outside the hotel came in through the windows even on the 10th floor. Hard to get a good night’s sleep. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast could use a little punching up.

Bare Minimum; No Frills!

Room had bare minimum. Booked a King for $751 & got a small Queen. It had no seating, no washcloths, no bathroom amenities. TV had limited channels. Room should have costs much less.

Great location

The Stanford is clean and convenient to the 34 - Herald Square Subway station, which took us everywhere we wanted to go. Located in Koreatown, there was an abundance of great restaurants, bakeries, tea shop, etc, as well as lots of shops in walking distance. The room was small but clean, and since we just needed a bed and shower, that was fine. I was surprised how quiet the room was considering we were on a busy street. Our room had an issue with hot water where we needed to run the sink and the shower to get hot water, which was a bit inconvenient and seemingly wasteful of water. For as old as the building probably is, it's in excellent repair for the most part. Our bathroom did have a vague sewer smell that would appear but we kept the door closed as we couldn't pinpoint the origin. There are hand towels and body towels but no washcloths. We travel with our own bath puffs, so that wasn't a big deal. The wifi would cut out and the staff wouldn't be aware of the issue or have a solution/or when it would be fixed, but, technology can be fickle. The free breakfast was good to get your day started to walk to a restaurant for breakfast - bagels, toast w/condiments, yogurt, bananas, apples, but also salad, hot Vienna sausages and mashed potatoes? Coffee was from a Keurig and there was also tea available. Again, K cups are not very green, but they do allow for variety for guests. I would stay here again.

Great location for walking and public transport

Great location for access to all parts of the city by foot and public transport! There was some confusion at check-in and also with luggage storage, followed by more confusion around wi-fi code. However, I attribute all of this to one employee. Perhaps she was new or not in the right job. All others were very efficient. I miss the early evening cocktail bar option.

Enjoyed the stay. The location was great. The unexpected extras like a real closet, super comfortable beds, larger than most rooms, and coupons for local restaurants. Only con was the lack of a view....but who stays in their room anyway. Pleasant hard working staff a plus

Excellent Location

The location alone is enough reason to stay again. Right in the heart of Koreatown with the BDF train on the corner and a couple of blocks from Penn Station, it was super convenient to get around with plenty of delicious food spots surrounding us, including the udon place next door. Our check-in was smooth, and the front desk service was warm and welcoming. The room was a decent size and clean, though a tad dingy with some stains on the walls here and there. The weather shifted quite a bit when we were there, and their airflow in the room lacked at times. It was ok for us, but not sure how it would be in the summer months. Also, there is a continental type of breakfast with coffee and bottled water, which is a bonus. Overall, I was happy with the multiple-day stay and would consider a return next time we're in New York.

Too much to pay for no water.

I was handed a piece of paper when I checked in stating that the property would not have any water between 10 pm and 5 a.m. Water did actually return until after 7:00 a.m. the next day. Stayed three nights only received towel service once.

Excellent location. Reception staff the very best! Helpful. Breakfast decent. Hot drinks available throughout the day if required. Be better if available all the time though! I would book again if visiting New York again.
