This is a wonderful hotel! The decor is superb, you feel transported to an elegant era. The staff is very friendly and does everything to make guests comfortable. The location is unbeatable, steps from all the main attractions. Very walkable! All in all, I would stay there again. Highly recommend it!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel. However I would not recommend this property to anyone with mobility issues, as there are stairs into the building and rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floor. There are not a lot of amenities, as this is a small hotel. If that’s a requirement for someone, they might want to consider a larger hotel. The rooms are nice and very clean. My only wish is that they provided a Keurig coffee maker in the rooms. It would have been nice to have a fresh coffee when you wanted and not have to get dressed to access the coffee down on the first floor in the mornings. It’s a great location where you can walk to everything in Old Quebec City. My husband and I walked between 8-10 km/day while we were there.

The location of this property cannot be beat. You are situated in a very quiet part of the upper city, but VERY close to major landmarks such as the chateau Frontenac and the funicular. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Parking is available but expensive. However, the rooms are VERY small. And don't you dare say so when you complete an Expedia check-in survey, because the staff will accost you about your feedback. We checked in, and I did the quick feedback survey, and was shocked when we returned to the property after a long day of wandering the city, and one of the members of their staff approached me and DEMANDED that I explain why I had indicted that my first impression was "ok." I stated that the room was small, and that the bathroom was very tiny (the sink was OUTSIDE the bathroom in the room, that is how tiny the bathroom is in room 34), and she berated me that the room dimensions are all listed online. I found this to be very rude and unprofessional. Furthermore, when we arrived, they changed our room number right in front of us, we were supposed to be in 18 (first floor, presumably a larger room), and reegated us to the third floor into allegedy an equal room. We paid more for a "theme" room. But there is no "theme" in room 34. This is an economy hotel that masquerades as a "boutique" establishment. We were overall satisfied with the visit, but the visit we had did not match the visit we had booked online.

    Needs professional decoration.

We were disappointed with what they had done to what could have been a magnificent property. The main breakfast/lounge room on the ground floor was decorated in a horrendous 60's kitsch style that destroyed the beautiful lacework ceiling and carved fireplace. Totally out of place and a blemish on the building. Our room was on the ground floor and had been renovated very cheaply. The tiny 5' by 7 ft closet sized bathroom was not adequate for two and it was decorated with the cheapest tiles and fixtures including a 5ft bath with a broken spigot that had been caulked into place. The tiny bathroom mirror was the only one in the room. No tea making facilities in the room but tea and coffee was supposed to be freely available but they never had milk while we were there. The wall dividing our room from another was badly constructed because we could hear every word uttered by the couple in there and were awakened by very load snoring on both nights. All doors, including our main door were hard to close and in need of repair. Throughout the property are knick knacks that are newer in style and not appropriate to the vintage of the property. The beautiful carved staircase was marred by a horrible 60's style orange plastic "chandelier" for example. Our friend on the third floor fared better with a normal size bathroom but they had absolutely no storage except for a hat rack! On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and the location was great.

Excellent location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Extremely small bathroom. Overpriced breakfast option. Could get far superior breakfast for much less nearby.
