Very good location if you need to take a train or even a bus to the airport at Gare St-Charles. Even to take the metro at 2 stations from the Vieux Port from St-Charles. Breakfast was simple but enough. Some more fruits would have been better. The rooms were clean, but bathrooms are small the Japanese way. But enough for me. The japanese toilets well explained with the buttons! Very good value for money.

This hotel is very good value. Room was a good size and clean. Breakfast consisted of a good variety of pastries, fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs and hams. Only criticism would be there was only two coffee sachets in the room and no milk. We asked for milk at reception and were told they don’t give milk out so we had to buy some from the supermarket. Hotel is very close to the station and the area has a lot of homeless people however we never felt scared or threatened but we’re back in our hotel room by 8pm. We had a lovely meal in Le Panier which is the old town and very arty. And a nice walk along the port. Overall our visit was very positive and would definitely return to explore more of the city.

I expected better from a Japanese hotel..Japanese staff were not friendly...general service from reception was luke warm.understanding of English was poor.mainly they have bathtubs and v small bathrooms .not good for people with mobility issues. The station is not that close .when have to climb 50 steps with suitcases. Not convenient or safe.no Bell boy.staff don't help with suitcases...hotel lacks atmosphere. No restaurant for dinner..nothing is close by..wouldn't recommend nor would I stay here again.. not a safe area ..

At first I wondered why it was called Tokyo Inn, but the hotel is actually a little piece of Japan, right here in Marseille. I haven’t been in Japan for years so this reminded me of good memories, and quite unexpected. I would recommend, location is very convenient next to Saint Charles station and hotel is very clean.

The level of service is close to their hotels in japan. But much higher level than other local hotels. Laundary facility is very helpful, ac adjustable vent make stay much pleasant. The room is ok though it s really dark as there are very few light...and need to get out of bed to turn it on or off. Not very clever. Bathroom is fine, shame no sockets but can survive. Matress is not that confortable but it s doing the job. Floor ( carpet ) was dusty / dirty ( white socks did not stay white!) and therefore bit smelly. Breakfast: room is huge, clean, lots of coffee machines so no need to wait to get a drink. Pastries, bread, ham and cheese, fruits...no surprise, same as everywhere... but enough choice. Staff is nice. Not far from the train station. Overall, mainly a good stay and for that price no much to really really complain about.

We arrived on a motorcycle and were not given instructions as to where we could park. Hotel is on a busy dual carriageway and there is underground parking but it would have been useful to receive some information prior to our arrival. It would seem you can just drive in and use intercom at barrier to tell reception you have a room booked. The young man on reception was very polite and helpful. When I booked this hotel I had visions of a super modern, high tech property as I believe it is Japanese. There were certainly lots of Japanese guests but I soon realised it was quite dated in furnishings and not at all high tech. The room was fairly basic although clean. The bathroom was a very small capsule, the type seen on board a ferry or ship. The toilet and shower were quite strange and the bathroom had a drain smell. Breakfast was quite good although the scrambled eggs were powdery. The hotel is located in quite a rough area but we expected this in Marseille. Not sure we would return to this noisy, chaotic city but if we did, we would choose a different hotel.

The location is ideal - 5 min from gare St Charles, and in easy walking distance of the vieux port, La joliette, old town etc. Wonderful view out the back. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast... what not to love
