Good stay
Staying with my partner. We didn’t have a double bed. Two beds pushed together. Old beds, creaky. The room was clean and the view was great. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Expected a better quality coffee machine for this establishment.

A great hotel set in beautiful countryside!
We stayed for 2 nights in a family room which was comfortable, clean and very quiet so had a good night's sleep. The hotel was set in beautiful surrounding countryside with exceptional views of Wiltshire from the bedroom window. The experienced bar manager was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, polite and offered amazing customer service while we visited the bar lounge on the ground floor that looked spacious and impressive full of the old antique style interior design features. The reception staff were helpful too on arrival. There were adequate car parking facilities outside which is free for residents. I would highly recommend this reasonably priced hotel to anyone visiting Bath and nearby areas.

Stay in city centre Bath
A nice hotel with lots of character, but it's located up a hill far from anywhere and surrounded by narrow streets where two cars passing side by side have centimetres to spare and sometimes, one car has to give way to the other as only one can pass at a time. So almost impossible to even go for a walk. There's nothing to do in the area, so the only option is to read a book, watch TV or go to the bar. Bath is 20 minutes away and a nightmare to get to on such narrow roads. Admin staff was rude and unfriendly. If i ever returned to Bath, I'd stay in Bath.

Country hotel
This hotel is old and has charm BUT our room wasn’t serviced- they were not going to change the towels until we asked for fresh. You don’t expect to make your own bed and use wet towels for 2 nights in a decent hotel. Very disappointed

2/10 Poor

Terrible experience
An absolute disgrace of a hotel. Creaking boiler which sounded like a train passing meant not a wink of sleep, hotel packed with noisy wedding guests, nowhere to park, no room service available and restaurant closed far too early. Dated rooms, with a TV that switched itself on 3 times during the night. Unhelpful reception staff who have no idea about the local area and don’t answer the phone. Shocking hotel

Very knowledgable and compitent staff. All of whom went out of their way to give super service. Amazing hotel in a period building with extensive grounds, and great views of the countryside.

Older property but still very nice
I stayed for one night, was pleased with the size of the room and of the bed, lovely old property, sound proofing minimal but a quiet stay in general due to plenty of thick carpets and soft furnishings. Great views from the patio, nice food, well-cooked and tasty, prices reasonable but limited menu. Receptionist ran through introduction and room location too quickly, she's obviously got it down to a fine art but some of us oldies need to digest it slowly. Also, I booked my dinner early, for 1700, no-one told the kitchen staff ahead of time, minor issues but good communication is crucial to good customer experience. Found a bit of a loose carpet hazard and mentioned it to Reception, it was sorted out quickly. I'd probably stay there again just for the views.
