Positive stay despite power outage
We booked a night for the family to celebrate New Year’s Eve. When we arrived at 3pm we were told there was a power outage. No fault of the hotel. Apparently someone triggered it by releasing a balloon onto a power line and causing a short. Due to the power outage they had to hand write the check-in process and send a staff member to open doors for customers. Unfortunately this lasted for quite a while as we waited for the power company to restore service. We stepped out for a while and returned around 530p when everything was completely dark in the hotel. And they had to escort us around with a flash light. Finally power was restored a little after 6pm. What a relief!! And reminder of HOW much we rely on electricity! Lol. The kids were forced to conserve energy on their phones and electronic devices because we didn’t know when we would get it back. Throughout the whole ordeal all the staff were polite and helpful. They ended up comping us our hotel garage parking fee which was an appreciated gesture. We would definitely recommend this hotel for how they handled a difficult situation that was out of their hands and seem to really care about their customers.
