Very Historical Property
There are 3 different properties. You check in one place and then have to be driven to the one you are staying in. The room I was in was nice, but very small. It wouldn’t have worked for two people. I had to Lyft to pick up my car as I had an early flight. The $50 valet fee was a little excessive.

Book another hotel.
Sorry but could barely understand the hotel check in staff. The Robert Johnson house is interesting. No staff, just customers. The bed in room 2122 near the window has an old lopsided mattress. The tub needs refinishing. The toilet leaks. The staff did not understand what I was saying about the toilet. I speak English. The remote didn’t work. Best of all, I was told parking was $29.00 per night by staff. Bill was $152.00 for less than 48 hours. What a ripoff. The only thing I could give 5 stars for is location.

From the moment we walked in the door…
From the moment we walked in the door we were warmly greeted and felt welcome. Once key was in hand we made our way to our beautiful room that was clean ready for us.
The staff gave us excellent dinner recommendations, the walk to the restaurant we chose was lovely, so many fun shops and charming buildings, the location of Historic Inns of Annapolis is perfect.
I highly recommend the Historic Inns of Annapolis and I hope to visit again someday.

Historic Inn Historic Views
Frequent visitor, and booked a room with two double beds this time. The room was actually spacious (not all of their rooms are) and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. Nice view of Main Street Annapolis and the State House. Can't beat the location or the history. Note that you will NOT be able to check in even slightly early though.

2/10 Poor

Not charming, just old
This collection of centuries old historic buildings is in grim structural and cosmetic shape. Service, as in front desk staff, bell staff or room service, only in one of 3 buildings. Window unit heating/cooling.
Maybe go in for a drink and look at the old photos and documents on the walls but DO NOT stay here. Prices not competitive with less charming but more contemporary options

Pass on this one
Checking in is a little tricky. There are three buildings for Historic Inns at different locations in downtown Annapolis. You have to check in at the Calvert House.
If you don't use the valet parking, you are going to walk a while to get to the hotel.
The room I had was in poor shape. Wallpaper pealing, the heating and A/C unit would shake you out of bed when it operated. The bathroom is very, very small. It had no towel hooks to hang the hand towel. The only place to hang a towel was in the shower. The room had poor ventilation so it smelled like a wet bathroom. The paint was lifting off the bathroom door and the hinges were covered in rust.

Perfect Annapolis Lodging
Beautiful old venue right across the circle from the State House, a visitor point of interest. Large room with dark brown (yes! Very elegant) fabric wall covering. Upscale bedding. Large heavy furniture and beautiful carpet. Valet and front desk staff were gracious and helpful. Everyone was happy!
