Great Location

The front desk staff was fantastic!! They were so friendly, helpful, and attentive. The property is in a great location for Key West. Our room was clean and the parking was great. I will say for paying more than $300 a night, I do think it is a bit overpriced.

Lovely stay for our 50th Anniversary

Loved our one night stay in a cute blue room looking over the pool. It was on the second floor with lush tropical trees billowing over the terrace. Downstairs had more rooms and lots of tables with umbrellas and sitting areas. Everything was surrounded by beautiful tropical landscaping. Wished we could have stayed longer. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable ever! Was pleasantly surprised they had a light breakfast in the morning with delish coffee. The staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again sometime and highly recommend to friends. Oh and btw the price was well affordable.

Quaint outdated & expensive.

Needs update of electric & plumbing. We had to keep opening the toilet's back cover to put hose in correct spot and lift the handle up to fill the stool. Sweet nostalgia of 60's & 70's. No plasticware to eat continental breakfast. 7 block walk to Duval bus ride. No coffee availability after breakfast which was served from 8-10. We loved the plantings. No pool. Warm, not hot, spa. No pool. I guess the property was hit hard by past hurricane. Upstairs rooms are reached by outdoor wooden outdoor stairs. Not handicap friendly. Staff took our suitcases up. We had to bring them back down the stairs ourselves.

Cozy, Close, for a Great Price

It is a very charming place and reminded me of Europe. It has a friendly atmosphere and the place can be described as cosy and comfortable. And located in old town Key West Highly close to everything . Highly recommended.

Needs soundproofing.

We stayed in the “Library.” The room was clean and spacious. However, it never is truly dark because of shutter blinds and no curtains. When the outside motion light came on due to a pedestrian, it woke us up. Even worse was the lack of soundproofing. I could hear someone open a can of soda in the room next to us. We could hear every single car. And worst of all, the rooster that crowed from 2:30-5:30 and beyond each day sounded like it was right outside the window. Something needs to be changed about the soundproofing of the rooms to make them better. Lastly, there was no silverware in the room and with the office being closed early in the evening, that was super inconvenient. If we ever return to Key West, we’d stay somewhere else.

Lovely place.

Lovely place! The outdoor hot tub was really nice. Our poets room was very spacious and clean. The coffee and purified water are excellent. All three of us found the breakfast a bit underwhelming for a guest house. No hot food like sausage or bacon was available. The breakfast bagels and pastry were pretty good though wrapped in plastic. There were several choices of cereal in plastic containers, yogurt, cheese sticks and hard boiled eggs. Staff was very nice. Plenty of street parking. I would stay here again.

Great small, family run hotel. Quiet and safe area. Easy walk to all amenities. The little cottage is well set with a bedroom and a pullout sofa bed in the living room. Nice breakfast is served in the morning. Well priced. Would highly recommend it!

We were looking for a property close to the West Ferry Terminal, 100 Grinnell Street, at the Historic Seaport. This property was a 12 min walk. Property contained several individual rooms with own entrances. Our room (Truman -2nd floor) was small but very colorful. Nice molding & comfortable bed. Towels were small and thin. Room was not sound proof which is why we gave it 3 stars for Condition. Roosters & garbage truck are your 5-6am wake up call. Felt it was a very nice place but overpriced.

Our room at Authors of the Keys West Guest House was a queen bed and a bathroom. Room space was in short supply. The front office is staffed till 5pm so if you will be arriving later than 5pm make arrangements. The breakfast was excellent, including great coffee, bagels, hard boiled eggs, fruit etc. Parking is limited to 2 on-site spaces.

When checking in the lady on duty was very nice and helpful. The pool is very small. A little bigger than a pickup truck bed. The shower is very small also. If you are over 5’6” you will bump your head on the shower head. I was not going to leave them a bad review until the next morning the free breakfast was so very simple and not enough for all the guests. Breakfast starts a 8 in a very small office/serving room. Everyone was trying to make the best of it but there was NO COFFEE!!!! No instant coffee in the room and everyone waiting until 8 am for no coffee. It is a place to lay your head and that is about all I can say good about it.

Key West Poets Guesthouse

We loved our spacious, clean suite (Poet). The beds were very comfortable. The manager, Alex, was very accommodating and friendly. He provided me with a coffee maker and pods so that i can make coffee in the room. We thought the room could use more focused lighting, such as in the dining area and sofa area. The floors seemed very clean, but our feet would get dirty quickly. However, were were in a quiet area away from Duval Street and the noise. The breakfast was satisfying; i especially appreciated the hot oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs.
