The hotel is not in the best neighborhood although I felt safe inside. Walking around at night is not recommended. Right next door is a homeless shelter. Police department is nearby. Also near is a main thoroughfare with a lot of different stores and businesses. Late night kiosk 2 blocks away.
The front desk staff are very, very nice and helpful. Late night check in was no problem. Luggage storage is at the desk so it's all visible. The desk is essentially always manned. My things were handled well and were safe.
There's a couch and a chair in the lobby. Tea, hot chocolate, and water are freely available downstairs. This area is quite large with a lot of seating. The space was great for me when I needed to do a little bit of work after I checked out. There's hardly anyone there except for housekeeping staff, who put bags of laundry to just sit out there.
Amenities were scant (Paul Mitchell), but when I asked for things, they were readily available. I went to ask the housekeeper next door for something not in my room and she immediately left to get it for me. Unfortunately, she also came right in just after she knocked.
Most rooms don't have a fridge, mine did with a very small freezer. There were lots of decent quality towels, but no towel rack. The shower was nice with a glass door, good water pressure and a sort of rainfall shower. There were no adjustments on the shower head but it was movable.
The latest check out is at noon with an automatic charge at 12:30 PM.
