Okay - keep in mind this is NOT a 5 star hotel. The rate was excellent, the location, was excellent, the hotel was very clean, and the staff was super helpful. They also gave us a recommendation for a great Chinese restaurant. They did not have a coffee maker and refrig which would have been nice but they had a good hair dryer and a nice bed and a great shower. I would stay at this hotel again when I come to San Francisco again. Recommend as a solid tourist class hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Room small and dark. Noise from people in hallway and from above floor was loud. Unfortunately the digital clock alarm went off at midnight, really loud and it hard to get back to sleep with other aforementioned unpredictable noise level occurring as well. Floors and bed creaking all over. Closet paint is flaking off down into carpet, needs to be fixed. Was happy there were four pillows and sheets were clean cotton. No smart TV, and these days at these prices there should be. No fan, but front desk provided me with one which I appreciated. Fun location right in heart of Chinatown, was able to walk to North Beach. Staff was efficient.

Location is perfect! Most everything you want to see is a few minutes walk or train ride away. Not many amenities are available if you plan to spend extended periods of time in the hotel, and it can get a bit noisy at night, but a great home base for all your city adventures. The food selection in the area is the true prize!

I really enjoyed my stay at Grant Plaza Hotel. Built in the 1920s, the hotel has a unique charm and rich history that adds to the experience. The rooms are a bit small, and the online photos make them seem a little larger and more modern than they are, but everything was clean and well maintained. The beds were a little firm for my liking, but the outstanding staff more than made up for it. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service. For the price, it’s a great value, and I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for anyone wanting to visit Chinatown. Well maintained older building. Staff is great with helpful information about local eats and more modest local eateries. Had to check out earlier than expected but cancelation of my reservation was no problem and refunded the balance with no problems. Can't say enough about how good my stay was.
