Just ok

Hotel is very run down inside but the pool is nice. There is construction going on on one side which makes it very noisy however we stayed on the other side (after complaining) which was very pleasant. It's quite a walk to Hoi an town but closer to the beach if that's what you're after. Breakfast could be good one morning but terrible the next so very inconsistent. A lot of bus groups stay here so there is a lot of noise from them also (it doesn't help when most of the doors seem to have cracks in them!) to the staffs credit though they did try their best!

Lovely rooms. Near beach

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The room was nice with a balcony and was very clean. Wifi was not so great in the room, but once in the lobby it was strong enough to Skype. The location is great if you want to go to the beach but a little out of the way for the main town. Staff were always friendly and breakfast was nice.

Great staff. Bad beds.

The staff try so hard and are engaging and friendly. Unfortunately the it is let down by the bedding. With such old bedding they need to at least put a mattress pillow or something on the beds to soften it to ensure a good nights rest. Buffet breakfast is excellent.

Excellent stay, great location 5 on 5

Excellent hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff I have come across. Originally planned to stay just 3 days in Hoi An, ended spending 5 at this hotel. The was large and spacey, with the most stunning view of the nearby river and rice paddies that stretch as far as the eyes can see. The nearby beach, which is only a 10 min cycle, was serene with clear blue water. The old town is not too far either. Breakfast at the hotel sets you up for the day with plenty of choices and if you want anything else, they Re more than willing to go beyond and prepare it for you. Can't recommend this place enough.

A Retreat with Lovely Surroundings

Quiet, restful hotel. Beautiful building. Rooms are very airy and spacious with clean, functional bathrooms. Large French doors open onto balconies with views of river, neighbouring village and beyond. Large pool, sunloungers all good. Shuttle bus to town or cheap taxi ride, about $5, no waiting. Breakfast included sausages, bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, jam, coffee and juice. Staff very helpful, not much English but this wasn't a problem.

Nice stffs, great room, but ..

Great family room. The people working were friendly and helpful for sure. We booked a family room for 4 nights, the first night we had no hot water because one tank was shared for two rooms. You just have to make sure they are not giving you a room sharing a tank with other tenant.

Beware!

This hotel had very little for alcohol for a beverage when we arrived. It is located a fair distance from Hio Ann and you must take a shuttle to get there. If you don't time your visit just right you will spend a time sitting and waiting. Also there is not a good waiting area for you to even sit at.

Broken Showers dirty bathrooms. Too many faults.

The Indochine Hotel is disappointing. Its initial appearance (large with an old worldly charm and neo classical features) was let down by sub-standard bathroom, poorly trained staff (potentially un-trustworthy) and a bizarre approach to running a restaurant/room service that rivals Faulty Towers (lack of standards, many menu items often ‘sold out’, even though it’s virtually always empty). The grounds are spacious, and the river location is actually stunning (but pool and bar seem sadly neglected). In terms of the rooms (yes very spacious and good enough for the star rating) but If there’s one thing that I can’t stand it’s a shower head that barely works (literally) and no use of mattress protectors. Even a hostel/roadside motel should ensure these two things are provided. The worst experience though was at checkout when the desk lady tried to add an extra 500,000 dong charge for absolutely nothing. I had to carefully check the statement and draw it to her attention before she giggled and apologised for her ‘mistake’. The hotel clearly markets to large tour groups that arrive on buses and obviously have no choice of where they stay.

Would go back and stay at this hotel again. Has a romantic feel to bedrooms, Also larger suites have two queen size beds and plenty of space which would suit families. View was excellent from Restaraunt in hotel. 500 metres walk to beach. just a little further to town, but a quick bike ride which is the best way to get around in Hoi An

Intimidating staff ,smelly room

The hotel was ok ...however found one front desk staff interogated us everytime we went out and questioned all our purchases and how come we didnt buy off her friend ..was a little intimidating.....also large groups of teenage children arrived and were very noisy we had to complain 3 times to get moved (we completely lost it after a 5am episode!!). The rooms were ok but ours smelt very bad musty or mouldy.Hoi An on the other hand was beautiful!!

Great service

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in so far on our travels through Vietnam. The staff were so helpful, they let us check in 3 hours early and went out of there way to makew sure we had everything we needed. Fruit was delivered to our room daily and the buffet breakfast was great. Only issue be careful of where the staff send you for tailoring. We got sent to "the best" and it really turned out to be the most expensive (but good quality). Totally reccomended.

Would Go Back

Lovely old style hotel out from town but short taxi in or free shuttle bus from hotel. Hotel upgraded our room to a suite with a view of the pool for no extra charge which was fantastic ( would book these rooms next time). Very spacious rooms which were extremely clean with an old world feel. Bathrooms lacking a bit but they were renovating them on other floors. Breakfast nice and great 240 degree views from the top floor- take your camera Staff extremely helpful

Not located where it says it is on the map

I wanted to stay across the road from the beach so I chose this hotel. Turns out it isn't located where it says it is on the map on this website. It is across the bridge & about a 10 minute walk. So i was extremely disappointed with this! The beds are uncomfortable & most of the time the technical equipment such as the printers that prints the receipts wasn't working so I had to sign pieces of paper with hand writing on it to charge meals & drinks to my room hoping i wasn't going to be over charged. The pool isn't private at all & has very little shaded areas. So sitting by the pool with a book wasn't an option as it was too hot. The staff spoke little English also. I'd look elsewhere next time & check where they are located rather than rely on the one map.

Great hotel, wonderful service!

The hotel location can't be any better. It's a short walk to one of the most beautiful beach in Hoi An. It's a little far from town, but they have several free shuttles a day to and from the hotel so transportation is not a problem. You can also rent a motor scooter from the hotel for your enjoyment. The view from the restaurant and from the room are breathtakingly beautiful. We absolutely loved it.
