The hotel was overall very good. They did not offer a minibar or snacks in room which considering nothing on block was open after 9pm would have been nice. Also my experience is the water available in the room most places I have stayed are 1 liter bottles not 16oz. Since they really are charging you for these “free” items with their extra facilities charge I would think a larger bottle of water would be nice. The restraurant was good but seemed under staffed which is not surprising these days. Overall at this price point it was very good to excellent choice.

The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels, which I like. When I checked in, the person at the desk could not clearly explain why I was charged $200 over the pre-set room rate (refundable deposit, minus "activity fee" and room charges). Also, the $15 credit to the restaurant is a joke, since breakfast cost $50 ($6 for coffee? really? youre not The Ritz). Even with the credit, it would have been much cheaper to go the bagel store across the street or Le Pain Quotidien up the block.

Hotel was beautiful. But there was no view. However, we enjoyed our day.

One of the biggest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in outside of Vegas. Very good surprise, especially when city hotel rooms tend to be smaller. Fun design elementsin the room, nice Speakman showerhead, with good water pressure. Citrus scented bathroom amenities. Great location in Dupont with lots of restaurants around. Bravo, Royal Sonesta on a great stay!

I arrive at the hotel at 1230pm. Apparently check in was not until 4pm. I travel a lot and never had to wait so long to get into room. Luckily I had an association who had checked the day before so i was able to store my luggage with him. I didn't get into my room until 4pm..extremely weary from the morning's travel. At the price point this hotel charges I expected much more in terms of accommodation. Definitely not planning a return stay.

This hotel offers pros and cons:
Pros:
Lots of hydration, all the water you can drink and a fridge to keep it cold loved that!
The location is amazing!
The housekeeping staff and bell men were great.
Cons:
Cannot check in till 4pm. I was told over and over again that I could come back and maybe the room would be finished. The lobby is dark and uncomfortable. It was not fun to get there and have to just sit and wait for the room to be clean and I did not see any urgency from the front desk to help me get into the room faster.
The hotel bar was not friendly and not very good.

The front desk staff, valets, and bar staff were all friendly and helpful. They were the high point of my stay. The room was large with a comfortable bed and the bathroom included nice extras like a dental kit and shaving kit. I'd say the overall condition of the hotel is lacking and/or showing age. There was obvious ceiling damage in the bar. The room had an odd odor, though not offensive. My shower door wouldn't shut all the way. And throughout the property there was minor, occasionally moderate, damage to wallpaper, paint, and floorboards. I would stay here again due to the lovely staff and great location, but the hotel could use some TLC.
