Hotel was great but it seems Austin has a real homeless problem! One would think if you want people to come down to sixth street and it is touted as a tourist destination you would do something about the homeless. Constantly being asked for money really ruined Austin for me which is too bad because Austin is such a beautiful city and very similar to Nashville, but if I had to choose to visit one or the other it would be Nashville mainly because they don't have people begging on every street corner.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Hyatt for RTX2015, even being a younger couple they were extremely respectful and kind. The hotel staff were very nice and the food was amazing.

Great Stay, not sure about the "go green" program
Clean modern rooms. Everything was perfect. It was delightful to see young people that take their jobs seriously, and carry themselves with confidence and pride in what they do. That is very rare. In fact, the only thing I didn't care for is likely not even their fault. I'm certain that the "go green" movement in Austin is what has triggered the Hyatt's own "go green" program that offers a door hanger you can use to signal the cleaning personnel to skip your room. The thought being that by using the same linens will offer a level of conservation and environmental awareness. And so I followed the program because I was only staying for two days. In the end, the benefit to the environment is negligible at best. The problem I have with it is the loss of income for a group of people that depend heavily on tips. I believe that the loss for families greatly outweighs any environmental benefit. But don't tell that to an environmental activist. Again, I'm certain that the only reason the program exists is so the Hyatt can be viewed as an amenable Austin community player, so I don't put that on the Hyatt. Austin area leadership is where the fault lies. And Austin resident's know how to fix that.....or do they?

Pleasant stay at hotel
This was a very good hotel. Rooms were large; service was good; and it was in a good location, within walking distance of the State Capitol, Rainey Street and Sixth Street bars.

Very nice room - although housekeeping skipped us one day. Breakfast was free, but sort of meh.
