I enjoyed my stay there very much. The man who runs the bed and breakfast was a very kind and generous man. Great value for the money! Paul from Canada

Wonderful stay in Scotland
This was the ideal place for my two week stay in Scotland. The location was perfect because it is within walking distance of my sister's home and close to bus stops that take you everywhere in the area. David was a delightful host and I felt very welcome and comfortable.

Wonderful Hogmanay stay with attentive host!
David was a fantastic B&B host. Very attentive and provided a lovely breakfast on the morning of New Year’s Day. Easy to get into the city centre with a few regular bus options. Would recommend staying here!

Go Back in Time
The proprietor David was a lovely man. His breakfasts were tasty and delicious. Good B&B for an old-school stay. Old Georgian home so if you like a historic stay, this is it.

Lovely place!!!
Lovely, elegant old home in a quiet neighborhood. The only problem was that I didn’t do a good job of getting arrival instructions. The bus from the city stops nearby but then, in the dark, it was a little tricky to find. The room and bath were very comfortable and welcoming. I had to leave early but I’m sure breakfast would have been nice. Btw, Uber doesn’t come to your exact location - be sure you figure their location out - again, I was doing that in the dark of early morning. Figure the location issues out before you go and you are sure to have a lovely stay!!

David the owner is very knowledgable and personable. He knows Edinburgh extremely well. The location is great for bus services into the centre of town and the breakfast was delicious. It is an old house and bares the marks of time, but overall it was a very pleasent stay.

We only stayed one night whilst visiting family but would definitely go back. David was lovely, so friendly and helpful. The room we had was huge and the bed very comfy. Quiet room and not too hot. There was an additional heater and loads of blankets though if you were cold. I don't like a warm room. Breakfast was cooked to order and lots of healthy options too. Beautiful house.

Property and owner both need help.
If you are the sort that would just love to spend a weekend with your eccentric octogenarian great-uncle that you've never met before, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Our stay at Spylaw Bank House was our first night in UK. David our host was so keen to please and help us. We arrived late in the day and he booked us into a local restaurant for dinner, showed us to our room, explained everything we needed to know. We woke to the fresh and fragrant smell of the flora/trees outside our window. Our home cooked full breakfast was really good and fresh pressed coffee. Spylaw Bank House was easy to find, close the village, quiet and restful. Loved our stay.
