Boogie Bar is a '70-style bar curiously separated by the walking street’s lane. The largest side of the bar features tables, chairs, a pool table, and a bar counter. The smaller side on the other side of the lane hosts just a few tables and the stage on which performs a talented cover band.

All the classic tunes of pop-rock are played by the live band, which is the real centre of attention in this quaint bar. The drink list hosts all the usual suspects from beers to cocktails and from soft drinks to spirits. Note that prices are comparatively steep, though.

Tew Lay Bar is a cool venue located off the beaten track on Railay Beach East. To get there, you need to follow the seaside trail for about 350 metres. Made of bamboo and thatch and situated on a small cape, this bar-restaurant-cooking school has the vintage vibe of the first bars that settled in Railay in the '80s.

At the bar, you can peacefully enjoy the view of Railay East Bay and its mangrove forest while sipping a cocktail or a cold beer. The atmosphere at Tew Lay Bar is really peaceful, gently rocked by Reggae music.

Location: Railay Beach East, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Open: Daily from 9 am to 12 am

Sunset Bar is the kind of establishment that made southern Thailand’s reputation for coolness and a worry-free atmosphere. The restaurant is settled right on Klong Muang Beach, between Nakamanda Resort and The Pelican Residence.

This unpretentious venue may not have cost a lot to build – it's made of driftwood, bamboo and thatch, and other recycled materials – yet offers its punters exactly what they are looking for: an affordable local venue at which they can unwind while watching the sun disappears behind the horizon on the Andaman Sea.

The bar hosts a pool table, board games and a good collection of books in many languages. It's where you can spend cool evenings here being gently rocked by the offbeat Reggae music, often played live by the local musicians who frequent the establishment.

    Soi RCA Entertainment

    Soi RCA Entertainment
    • Nightlife

Soi RCA Entertainment is one of the 2 main nightlife spots in Ao Nang (the other is Ao Nang Center Point). It is not clear what RCA stands for. In Bangkok, RCA – Royal City Avenue – is the epicentre of the capital’s clubbing scene, so the meaning must be the same for Ao Nang.

There are about 12 joints available in the 100-metre-long street. They mostly lean towards the seedy side of Ao Nang's nightlife, but they are good for a laugh and a few cheap beers.
