Snobby staff!
Obviously a high end hotel... but when the STAFF is condescending and unfriendly (no smiles) and snotty... it makes the guests feel like they're not fancy enough to stay there. Good luck finding guests that meet your standards... it won't be us again!

Hot water Issue - Insufficient Compensation
I typically love Fairmont Hotels for all the right reasons. However, my recent stay at the Fairmont Palliser was definitely lacking. With no warning on Friday morning, the hot water was turned off. I was not notified in any way throughout the day about the approximate time the water would be turned back on. When I arrived back to the hotel later int he day I asked at the front desk if the water was back on and I was told that it would be turned back on at 5 pm at the latest. For me this meant that i could not use the gym or for a run or freshen up before dinner. When I call down to the front desk I was told that there should be a letter in my room but there wasn't. I was also told that it was an emergency while on the phone. It was suggested that I use the GoodLife Fitness gym down the street work out and shower. I was told that my room service could be removed from my bill which only affects my company and does not benefit me in any way. It was suggested that perhaps I could receive a giftcard to use at another Fairmont as compensation. Michelle sent me a text message indicating that the hotel had been trying to get in touch with me regarding compensation via a TEXT MESSAGE. I spoke to Michelle upon my return from dinner and she offered me a $50.00 gift card. To me this is unacceptable after being offered compensation for my room service valued at more than $100. Why was an emergency water turnoff not communicated in this way???

Great everything but the pillows!
Amazing service amazing bed, amazing hotel but the pillows suck!!! Goes flat too easy. Gotta have firmer pillow options and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
