Perfection location
Perfect location for those seeing London by foot or tube pass. Many sights within 5 minutes to 1 hour walk. For those a little further, 15 minutes on the underground. Paddington station is 2 blolcks away. I stayed 2 nights with my brother and nephew. They had bunkbeds and I had a double. A little tight but without the added bunkbeds it would be a good size room and we saved by not booking 2 rooms. Room was clean and attractive and the price was great. Free breakfast and lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Friendly staff, easy check in and they will watch your luggage if you check out but aren't leaving for a few hours. Nice neighbourhood.

Poor 2.0
Don’t stay!
We were very disappointed in the hotel. It is in very poor condition. The beds are awful, only one pillow per person. Dirty box spring. The window opened into a dark below ground space. There are very few amenities. No safe, only 2 towels total! No shampoo etc. No ice or fridge. The breakfast is in a dreary basement room and minimal. The only good points were the location and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Poor 2.0
Awful room
Room awful. No bedding on beds, needed to ask for blankets, some duvets in cupboards but without covers. Only 1 towel supplied for 3 people! So needed go down to reception again to ask for towels. Was told there was no house keeping on Sundays! Looked like housekeeping missed this Room altogether anyway! It was not clean, (MC Donald chip on floor, dirty surfaces). Couple of lights not working, hair dryer not working, but it was plugged into dodgy socket. Furniture looked like it was from a skip! Remote for TV held together by sellotape. Minimal tea/coffee, looked old. Little bit of shower gel left in bottle. Really awful. Pictures on hotel.com or their web site did not reflect this room! Cracked, mouldy patches on walls as well. I had breakfast confirmed by hotels.com, but not provided. But if breakfast was as bad as room, it was probably best avoided anyway! So I needed to take 2 hungry children out in search for breakfast. Unfortunately, didn,t see room until late, otherwise I would have tried to find another hotel. Luckily only had one night, would not have stayed another. This is not worthy of 3*.

Decent, but a bit outdated.
From tap in the bathroom there was only cold water, room was a bit dusty. Kettle old and broken, tea and sugar haven't been used in ages. Entrance looked very nice though, with many paintings and decorations.Kitchen was very small with a very few options.

Recommended budget stay
A very good budget hotel in excellent location - room was up a few flights of stairs and was small but very comfortable, with very clean en suite shower & toilet. Good breakfast included.

Very mixed review
We were a family of three staying for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. We had very mixed experiences, but on the whole it was okay and can be recommended. Firstly the negatives. I am a fairly new invalid, and have not yet got used to checking whether a hotel has a lift. It does not. Our first night was on the 3rd floor and it took me for ages to climb the very many stairs. The room was also very small and not a joy to stay in! However, the staff were very sympathetic and moved us to a ground floor room for the second and third nights. Not only did this solve my mobility problem, but the room was bigger and actually quite nice. There was a desk where it was possible to set up a computer and work easily. There is unfortunately a second negative - the breakfast is atrocious. This criticism can be applied to many London hotels of this variety; and to many UK hotels as well. The problem seems to be adding a breakfast at minimal cost. The cheapest bread and a poor selection of things to put on it. Weak coffee. Cheap juice. A very small amount of effort and expense could result in a pleasant experience. It was necessary to go to a local Italian cafe to get a decent coffee. The cafe had lots of customers arriving with suitcases from the surrounding hotels, and presumably all of them were looking for a drinkable coffee! In summary, the ground floor room was perfectly adequate, in contrast to the third floor room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
