The main reason for staying at the Sevenseas is the location, i.e, the beach, and in that respect it is perfect. But the rooms are a little odd.
The first floor rooms are sparsely furnished, but have the biggest bed I think I've ever seen, way beyond a king size. They might be better with smaller beds and a few other things instead (like a wardrobe or a table). The bathroom is open air - which is fine - but the fridge and tea/coffee facilities are also in the same space, something which I doubt would pass hygiene standards in other countries. What passes for a wardrobe (i.e. a rail) is also in this space which means your clothes are effectively hanging outside all the time.
Housekeeping are in like a flash to make the bed, sweep the floor and clean the bathroom in the morning, but they don't seem to clean much else. The railing on the balcony was filthy and the stairway outside not cleaned once during our four days there.
The breakfast is a bit disappointing, but the lunch and dinner menu is excellent. We don't like being held hostage to high resort prices so ate at a few other places along the beach but had to conclude that for variety, quality and authenticity, the Sevenseas restaurant is by far the best. So sod the expense and enjoy the food.
So, location is great, restaurant is great, price is high for this part of Thailand, and a few things could clearly be improved, but all in all a very enjoyable stay.
