I didn't stay nor did my friend, for whom the reservation had been made.
The outside of the building was shabby with two appliances beneath the outdoor stairway. The parking lot was dirty. The clerk appeared scruffy and was incredibly rude, appearing racist toward my friend. To me, when I asked if I could pay for the room in advance, he said "We don't have any handicap rooms." If he'd been courteous, I would have responded the same as I did, quietly saying, "I'm not staying." He then said, "The room is for him?" At one point, it sounded as if he said, "If we have any rooms."
In my many years of traveling around the country, sometimes staying in some older motels, I've never been treated rudely. This was a first. I didn't have the opportunity to see the inside of a room, but based on the outside, it's difficult to imagine they would appear as the online photos displayed.
I will say that OYO management, the chain owners, was gracious and courteous, apologizing for our experience and refunding the week's rent that had been charged.
