Only a very quick stay for us as we got in late and departed very early and missed breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. The owners were both incredibly welcoming and even called a local pub on Thursday night to check if they could keep the kitchen open for a few extra minutes whilst we walked there (The British Lion.) The building is a relatively old one, hence no lift as far as I knew which is fine for us, but people with mobility problems should mention on booking. Our dog was also made to feel very welcome.
From the limited contact we had, I got the impression that the owners would go the extra mile and do their best for customers.
Again, for one short night I didn't check and don't believe there was aircon and it wasn't really necessary on our night.
When we next head toward Dover for a channel crossing, we'd be more than happy to stay again. It makes a big difference when you are made to feel welcome by the hosts. Perhaps we take an extra night to spend a bit more time to see Folkstone?
