I recently stayed at Live Aqua Punta Cana and had the most horrifying travel experience of my life, despite being a frequent traveler. From the moment I arrived, I encountered issues—starting with noisy construction that I wasn’t warned about and a grueling 3-hour check-in process. After paying extra to avoid the construction, I ended up in a moldy room that made me sick. When I switched rooms, my nightmare continued: I found a cockroach in bed crawling on me, and the staff's response was a joke. They kicked the roach out of my room as if it were nothing.
This was only the beginning of a string of issues. Mold, roaches, and pests plagued every room I tried. Towards the end of my stay, I was bitten by a fire ant, woke up with a swollen head and eye. I left the resort with multiple bites that caused so much discomfort, I couldn't sleep on my back. To make matters worse, there were daily power outages, slow room service, and dirty rooms with stained sheets and unclean surfaces. The so-called premium bar was a joke, offering low-end liquor like Red Label and Skyy Vodka.
Management made empty promises to improve things, but nothing was done. The only highlights were the chef and our butler. Everything else made this the definition of a vacation from hell. Do not be fooled by the photos; this place is an absolute disaster.
