Expensive stay for moldy room

Traveling with my family for the few days was very exciting. Exterior of the building is very nice however the room had a moldy smell, small ants, mold stains on couch and dining chair. The bathroom sink did not work very well. If you plan on drying clothes the dryer is horrible. Only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the whole building and one was out of service. Also, there was some sort of leak in the main entrance of the building. The $40 per day charge seems very forced since it was never mentioned while booking. The staff was very professional and welcoming. Enough towels during pool time. Housekeeping came everyday. Breakfast was fine.

A musty smell ever present in the room likely from no ventilation in the bathroom. Calling the front desk was typically to no avail they were short staffed the whole 4 days we were there the phone would ring until it went to the off site reservation line we had to go down a few times and there would be other folks in line waiting to speak to reception who had the same issue when they called. The pools were nice continental breakfast was fine aside from running out of silverware. Expected more from a Marriott

it was an excellent hotel in a prime location. The rooms were very comfortable with the exception of the musty smell. The room needs to be aired out with some fresh air. The destination fee allows $40 a day for food and drink, $5 in the market, free beach chairs and umbrellas and free bike rental every day of your stay.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The kitchenette had a fridge/freezer with ice maker, a cook top, dishwasher, sink and plenty of counter space and storage. There is a good sized closet and some storage nooks, but no drawers. Considering it's a beach resort it would have been nice to have more places to hang up wet clothes, there's only one towel bar and hook in the bathroom. The pool is nice and there's a great splash pad area for kids with lots of spray features separate from the main pool. The hotel has only been open a few years, but noticed a lot of wear and tear in both the public spaces as well as in the room.
