Terrible
Was charged for this room and never stayed wouldn’t allow me to cancel tried contacting the owners and they never responded to my messages and I called they never answered. Asked for $200 deposit by Zelle AFTER I booked and paid for the room. Nowhere in the booking does it say deposit. I was sent a separate message after booking asked by for deposit. I don’t even have Zelle and never used it. I need a full refund for a place I’ve never even stepped foot in.

Not going back.
Broken glass on rug. Musty smelling towels. No washcloths or smaller towels. No luggage rack or place to put suitcases. No amenities like Kleenex. Shared bathroom but no paper towels so you had to take your musty smelling bath towel each time to bathroom. Bed and Facility was clean except for aforementioned towels and broken glass

1. We felt the advert for this misleading - it was less a guest house than a private room in a hostel which is fine but had we known we would not have booked. 2. Communication was terrible. We were not sent a code to enter the front door, and even when we tried to contact by the phone number supplied at the entrance, we struggled to get through. We were let in by another guest. 3. A young woman who locked herself out of her room could not get hold of anyone to let herself back in and was stranded for ages. 4.The room was quite dirty. 5. The a/c and/or boiler (hard to tell which was which) were extremely noisy (literally like a jet plane taking off) and often woke us. 6. The bed was comfortable, the area was well placed for transport.

2/10 Poor

Beautiful property, unresponsive staff.
Pros: Nice neighborhood, property itself was clean and comfortable, even beautiful. Cons: Staff is very unresponsive. I had difficulty gaining access to the property. While I was staying there, a group of people were knocking loudly on door for a long time because they wanted to get in and could not contact the staff. I did not let them in but eventually someone else did. They proceeded to invite a large number of teenagers to the house to have a party that was so big and loud that multiple police officers showed up and chased them away. Police informed me that some individuals in this group had been armed. They also questioned me for half an hour, thinking I might be the manager. For a few hours I could not leave the property because a large group of the previously mentioned teenagers had congregated in front of the property, and police told me it was not safe to leave. When the manager finally showed up several hours later, I asked for a partial refund and he shrugged, saying "this is Chicago." I reached out several times later requesting a partial refund, and got zero response to my requests. This is a lovely property and it is unfortunate that the staff are not more responsive. Their low level of responsiveness makes this an unsafe place to stay. I plan on filing a complaint about this property with the BBB and hope that will motivate them to provide better training to the people responsible for this property.

This is an airbnb-style hostel guised as a 3-star hotel. No hotel personnel is on site. You have to text message a number to get a code to enter (and they do not respond immediately). The internal decoration looks good, which maybe the only positive point of this place. My scary experience: On the first night I arrived, two tenants rented a room and hosted a crazy party. They invited tens of people to the backyard, playing loud music, chanting ritual slogan, dancing in highly inappropriate ways after midnight, shining flashlights. The police came twice and finally arrested or chased away the partiers. I felt extremely unsafe as everything happened just outside my window. So I decided to move out on the second day. As you can guess, the hotel owner would not refund at all. The owner said, you know, this is in Chicago, and it is normal. They only offered a free night of stay for next time when I am in Chicago again. Unless you also think such a party in your hotel after midnight is normal, DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE.

Unsafe. Dirty. Smoke detector went off every 30 seconds. I timed it. Dirty underwear was left in areas of those house. Linens weren’t washed. Had food on them. Management was rude when we tried to call. Door lock didn’t even work properly. Had to wedge chair under door.

4 stars- great place just no toiletries
really great spot! one thing that made me rate it 4 stars overall instead of 5 was the lack of hand towels in the bathroom (regular towels were provided) and body wash/shampoo/conditioner. seriously great place but j remember to bring your own shower supplies.
