Marathon perfect location
This hotel is the perfect spot for the Chicago Marathon (within 1/4 block from mile 9). It is an older hotel but it is very charming, very clean and has loads of character. The hotel staff were very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to rebook this hotel. Cet hôtel était très bon. Este hotel fue el mejor

Nice Hotel , Close to Wrigley
It's a bit of a challenging area. They don't have own parking, you need to park down an ally. if you need to drop your luggage off first there is limited space out front. So if someone else is checking in you'll need to double park while you unload, then one person needs to stand by your luggage while you go park. Also, there are steps to go down to get in, so if a baggage cart is needed they need to bring out a ramp, again, an inconvenience if someone else is checking in at the same time. The hotel itself is nice, in a quaint area with lots of different restaurants to choose from. Easy access to transit if you want to head downtown, and only a 30 minute walk to Wrigley.

Good location - lots of food options nearby. Felt less touristy. Lots of young hipsters in the area. If you like thrift shopping, there are lots of great shops nearby. Trader Joe is around the corner if you want a quick bite or snacks. Walmart across the street. Intelligentsia coffee a few min walk away, lots of seating and good coffee. 5 minute walk to waterfront path if you want to go for a walk or run. Took uber from airport to hotel as we were 3 people with luggage. Can get to hotel using public transit but takes over an hour and requires a few transfers. Hotel was a bit dated although this is not uncommon for Chicago. Washroom was clean. Breakfast only okay, not exceptional (bagel was surprisingly good) - boiled eggs, sad pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffee. Reception desk was very pleasant and helpful. Mattress was terrible - felt really old and saggy. Air quality was a bit stuffy but with fan in the room it was fine.

Charming small hotel in Chicago
All staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and Chicago. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. Tea and coffee were always available in the lobby. Fresh baked cookies in the evening were a treat. It is an older charming building in a great location with public transportation a couple of blocks away. Many restaurants in the area. Definitely will stay here again when we are back in the city.

Great building, outstanding staff
The Willows is historic but the furniture, beds, bathrooms etc. are all up to modern standards. The rooms are great but what makes this hotel extraordinary are the staff. Being friendly, knowing the neighborhood, and seeming to love the place. Usually when a business runs this smoothly its because it has good management and people are happy. They handled coronavirus requirements properly and reasonably, everything was extra clean.

Yeah it was a pretty crappy stay the air conditioner did not work Windows couldn't open and it was about 95 degrees in there with humidity had to leave the hallway door open to get air in the room

Quaint little paradise
Not a long stay but the hotel was quaint & well kept. The decorations & lobby were very welcoming & had an amazing smell. Front desk employees were very nice with every encounter. Would definitely book again.

Aggressively Mediocre
For as old as this hotel is, it was pretty clear they took the time to renovate the front entrance but left the hallways looking more or less original and old looking. Nice small cozy solo 1 bed rooms. General hotel room expectations were met, not a whole lot to complain about, including the complimentary breakfast. Only thing might be that the bed was a little squeaky and in the middle of the night the radiator turned on and was pretty loud and obnoxious for a good 10-15min. So nothing amazing, rather aggressively mediocre but in a good way, and very worth it for the price with respect to other hotels in the immediate vicinity and given that I was only staying for a night.
