Our tub didnt drain when having a shower and the tub leaked so when we stepped out of shower if you weren’t careful you could have fallen. Countertop where coffee pot goes was very dusty. Starting to feel run down. We have stayed here many times.

Great Stay

We had a great stay at the Royal Canadian Lodge. The staff was welcoming and friendly and the rooms were clean and updated. Parking in the garage was very helpful especially in the winter. The breakfast needs to be improved...I think frozen potatoes were used. The white flour bagels (everything bagel not available) seemed like they were from a grocery store. The bacon/eggs were cooked just right. Not impressed with breakfast...we did not eat lunch or dinner there. Our server Elmer was outstanding! Friendly and professional. Neal/Concierge was also very helpful talking about where to go and see. The front desk person on Wed, Jan 22nd/evening shift was very nice.

My kids really enjoyed the robot, Banffy and the staff were really great! Tub in bathroom was in rough shape and the layout of room a bit odd but otherwise it was great!

8/10 Very good

The beds and linens are very comfortable. The gas fireplace was a nice feature in the room we had. The pool/steam room/hot tub were spa quality and were really nice. The hotel is just a couple blocks away from the downtown area, so it is very convenient and walkable. The fixtures, carpeting and furniture are outdated but it is cozy. I would expect the soap products to be local but instead were full of chemicals and from overseas. Not even the same brand for the different items. All other hotels and spas in Canmore and Banff I have been to over the years have provided local disposable products, so I was disappointed to see this here. I also find it odd they would charge an additional fee for parking when there is abundant space in their parking garage for each room to have one car. I am from Calgary and have a lot of experience in the area.
