Great place, great host but, a lot of stairs!
Warning....there are 65 stairs to reach the hotel level! Other than that, our host was wonderful, the breakfast was good, a traditional French one with lovely homemade jams, etc. served in a typical French dining room...reminded me of grandmere's dining room! Good location, close to the Vieux Ville and to the train station, etc.

A great location at an affordable price
Arriving slightly after reception closed measures were taken to allow me to enter smoothly and without issue. The many stairs were challenging but this is common in old town properties, besides up us where the best views are. The room was adequate for my one night stay. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The full length window did not shut fully which may be a problem for some, however the bug screen curtain kept all unwanted visitors out. The host was super nice and was keen to ensure a comfortable stay. The price was very good and the location was in the heart if the city, close to all the old town and it's many shops, bars and restaurants, close also is the beach (pebbles) and a nice 20-25 minute strole to the docks where you find boats many of us can only dream about. There is also a free ferry that links one side of the harbour with the other, this allows everyone the opportunity to sail on the med in Nice harbour. Many thanks for my comfortable stay and your kind hospitality.

Old-fashioned hotel close to station, old town
This was my third or fourth visit to the Wilson, which is an old-fashioned and modest establishment on a third floor with no lift. Well-placed and well-priced (for Nice). Friendly manager. My double room (no single available for my dates) boasted African masks on the walls and pillows and chairs with leopard-skin prints.

worthy
The entrance to the building was a bit hidden but once I figure out where it was, everything was very easy. I arrived early in the morning and the people at the hotel helped me keeping my bags and moving them in the evening to my room. They made everything simple for me. Very good service. The room was spacious for french standards, very clean and quiet. Perfect to relax after a long day at the city.

Alright for the price
The hotel Is in a good neighbourhood close to old town and the beach. It has an authentic feel as it it located on the 4th floor of an apartment building. The bed was clean and in good condition. You get what you pay for though. The bathroom situation was tenuous given that our bathroom had no door making privacy a little lacking. Overall an alright place to stay for people doing Nice on a budget.

Great location & for the price it’s very good
Friendly manager, it’s a basic traditional hotel not modern at all and yes it’s a bit dated and tired. There is no aircon, or tea coffee bit it’s only a similar price to other newer hotels with dormitories and in the Wilson hotel you get your own room it’s good value Location is excellent you can get a bus to and from the airport and it’s 10 minutes walk to the beach and it’s very close to the main shops , tramway and local restaurants

Good clean budget hotel
I enjoyed my stay in this centrally located hotel. It was hard for the taxi driver to find as it is only a doorway on the street with a three storey walk up. That said the gentleman on duty came down and assisted with my case. I was in a budget single room with shared facilities. They were very clean and I did not have to wait. I could hear my neighbours talking and laughing in the next room but this stopped by 10 pm. I had French doors looking over a covered courtyard. It was nice to have fresh air and sunlight. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would have liked a common area with some lounge chairs in which to relax but it is a budget hotel...

Beautiful French Hotel full of Character
Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of plants and very nicely decorated. There are 3 prehistoric tortoises that cruise around the hotel, they are amazing! I will definitely stay here whenever I come to Nicè

Excellent and friendly budget guesthouse
I was in Nice for two nights for a research trip, and stayed at Hotel Wilson. It was a lovely place, excellent value for money. The room was spotlessly clean and airy, with a few little touches of style that you don't necessarily expect in a rock-bottom cheapie... The rest of the guesthouse also came with a nice bit of style - artworks on the wall, plants in the hall. The managers were very friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. I'll certainly stay here again if i return to Nice. Although it was not an issue for me at all, it's worth noting that the hotel is on the third floor, and there is no elevator, but if you can cope with carrying your bag up the stairs, then it's a brilliant place to stay.
