2/10 Poor

Beautiful property, unresponsive staff.
Pros: Nice neighborhood, property itself was clean and comfortable, even beautiful. Cons: Staff is very unresponsive. I had difficulty gaining access to the property. While I was staying there, a group of people were knocking loudly on door for a long time because they wanted to get in and could not contact the staff. I did not let them in but eventually someone else did. They proceeded to invite a large number of teenagers to the house to have a party that was so big and loud that multiple police officers showed up and chased them away. Police informed me that some individuals in this group had been armed. They also questioned me for half an hour, thinking I might be the manager. For a few hours I could not leave the property because a large group of the previously mentioned teenagers had congregated in front of the property, and police told me it was not safe to leave. When the manager finally showed up several hours later, I asked for a partial refund and he shrugged, saying "this is Chicago." I reached out several times later requesting a partial refund, and got zero response to my requests. This is a lovely property and it is unfortunate that the staff are not more responsive. Their low level of responsiveness makes this an unsafe place to stay. I plan on filing a complaint about this property with the BBB and hope that will motivate them to provide better training to the people responsible for this property.

Unsafe. Dirty. Smoke detector went off every 30 seconds. I timed it. Dirty underwear was left in areas of those house. Linens weren’t washed. Had food on them. Management was rude when we tried to call. Door lock didn’t even work properly. Had to wedge chair under door.

4 stars- great place just no toiletries
really great spot! one thing that made me rate it 4 stars overall instead of 5 was the lack of hand towels in the bathroom (regular towels were provided) and body wash/shampoo/conditioner. seriously great place but j remember to bring your own shower supplies.

The house was beautiful, back yard deck was amazing. I didn’t like that you had to turn the TV off at 10. About a block down the street, police were raiding a house and one block the other way was a school.

It was for Lollapalooza so we got home late and started pretty early, but it was a great stay. We arrived and our key code didn't work. A quick phone call and we were in and everything worked well all weekend, Would reccomend.

I liked staying here. Let me help you understand what to expect. This is not a hotel. The room is only a bed, a night stand, and a desk. There is a shelf above the desk with hangers for clothes. No one cleaned my room while I stayed there. For me, this was enough. I planned on leaving in the morning and not returning until night. I stayed 5 nights, the shared bathroom and kitchen were always clean. There is a tv in the living room which I did not use. The room was clean, 2 bath towels were provided. No toiletries, which again, was fine with me. Shoes are not permitted to be worn inside. The other guests kept to themselves, this was an orderly place, and the AC worked well, I slept well. The neighborhood, as I understand, is less desirable as it is located by a section 8 apartment complex. My experience is the people were friendly and I did not feel my safety was an issue. The location is walking distance to bus stops and also to the L train. I would stay here again. I also want to clarify, I saw a review that claimed that they were required to send a foto copy of their credit/debit card. This was not my experience.

4/10 Fair

The property is nicely appointed, and our stay could have been pleasant save for a couple of major issues. We arrived to find stains on the comforter and sheets where seemingly dye from the grey pillow shams had bled on them. The bathroom had a small overflowing trash can and rolls of toilet tissue that had been splashed with what could have been some sort of cleaning fluid. Finally, our sleep was disrupted by partying that started after midnight and went on until 5 a.m. in the morning. Management was immediately responsive to all of these issues, and our bed linens were satisfactorily changed out. However, the stained toilet paper remained and the can in the bathroom was just too small for a shared bath, and remained overflowing. Also, lots of apologies were offered as a result of the boisterous guests who partied right outside of our door, but no sort of financial compensation was ever offered.
