The hotel asked me to use their app to electronically check in so that I can just pick up my keys at the front desk which I did but when we got to the hotel no one was manning the front desk. We had to wait. Then the check in was repeated, meaning, their app was not working. I know it is a budget hotel but the place was old and dilapidated. Parts of the room’s door jamb were missing/rotten. The sink was inside the room where a normal dresser would have been. Only a standing lamp with two bulbs served as the room light. The aircon has two settings - on and off. The tile walls had cigarette burn marks. The bathtub’s connection to the tiles were chipped and flaking. Altogether the stay was disappointing.

Not recommended.
Staff is superb, greatest I’ve ever seen. Hotel is old, although they try to keep it clean and I believe housekeeping do their best, bedsheets are clean, towels are new and clean, however, it need renovation. Downstairs, in the garden and canteen area, rats are running like cats.

Its cjeap but cheap is as cheap does. They have not so good laundry with cleaning their sheets I asked for two separate rooms both had hair inside the sheets even though they were clean. I know this is a cheap hotel but I thought at least there wouldn't be other people's hair in the freshly clean laundry sheets for the bed. I we woke up itchy through the night. even after I asked for the second room to have the sheets changed in front of us. It was not the staffs fault for cleaning. it seemed it was the laundry service Epic Hotel uses. This was a common thing that I found in that District during my stay. If you can spring for a nicer Hotel I suggest you do so throughout that area

Our stay was comfortable. Room size is decent, larger compared to other similar accommodations in the area. Location was a bit far from Aljunied MRT Station, though - around 10mins walk.

Our stay at the red doorz
The staff was friendly, the price was great, however the hotel was not in the best shape. It had brand new clean linans and beds but the air conditioning was old and barley worked. The fridge didn't work. There were cracks and damages on the wall. The carpet was old, damaged and stained. The bathroom was even older and in shambles. If you don't care about cosmetic appeal, it was great. If you do like a newer and cleaner look then you will be disappointed.
