Where do I begin ! They had me at the location!
Amazing STAFF amazing atmosphere amazing. Set up rooms are beyond clean now I’m coming from Kimpton in Roatan Honduras and this location is just as beautiful, vibrant, classy, cozy, homie. The staff is amazing. They send you a text message just to have a friendly chat and it helped me so much because I was going through something the minute I got their message and it helped me through my entire day. I love it here ! I love the body care that’s in the bathrooms. You won’t regret it just book.

Staff were fantastic - kind, helpful, knowledgeable. The room was super clean. But be warned they are TINY. Like it’s maybe a tad more than a foot from the foot of the bed to the wall. The room is cute though with a window seat and the bedding was nice. Complementary sodas in the mini fridge, but ours were not restocked. The location was great and the rooftop bar is gorgeous. The elevators are programmed so you must scan and press your floor but somehow they seem less efficient than old average elevators.

Loved the easy self-check-in. New and clean. Appealing design. Small room, to be expected in NYC, so not a complaint. The elevator system would be nice and efficient if it were working to capacity. Four elevators and tons of people waiting for the same one caused delays, particularly before a dinner reservation, causing us to walk down 16 flights. But that's the only "needs improvement" item. Food at the little bar restaurant in the lobby was good for a quick bite, too! Great location for seeing a show.

The location is great and convenient, and half a block away from the subway, with an easy walk to Central Park and Times Square. The hotel is nice, and my view from my corner room was lovely. On the downside, you could barely walk around the bed, as there was only about a foot of space. There really was no place to put the suitcase, except on the window seat. The sink is in the hallway outside of the bathroom, with barely three inches of space around the sink and no place to hang your hand-towel. The shower was nice, but the toilet was problematic, as the tank was set up to fill only half-way and didn't flush well. The AC worked well. One of the worst parts of this hotel is the elevator system. Instead of just having a button to summon the elevator and a button inside to choose your floor, you have to go through a menu on the screen, which required a learning curve. I'm tech savvy, and it still took me a few minutes to figure it out. An older person who is not used to such tech would have been at a total loss. 15 minute wait times for one of the four elevators when comign down was not unusual in the afternoon or early evening. Every one of the guests I spoke with complained about it. Also, my room wasn't turned over till very late in the afternoon, which was rather frustrating, since that's when you want to take a nap and get some rest.

Self checkin process was great a little bit of a learning curve. Parking is across the street at the Rockefeller parking garage. We had a wonderful stay. Great location to do things.

Rooms were new, nice, efficient and TINY. I know NYC hotels are known to be small, this is airplane cabin small — but it was nice and clean and the beds were really comfy!

Really lovely space. I loved the reception area where you could have coffee, catch up on work, relax. I miss having my own coffee pot in my room but this was a pretty alternative. The staff was really lovely and my room was brand new and so quiet.

New, clean room and hotel. The location is great for seeing shows and loved the morning coffee bar and happy hour. Very friendly staff. However, the layout of the room was very frustrating to try to walk around the bed without hitting something or running into the other person if two people are staying in the room. There’s no great place to put your luggage so it’s just in the way on the floor. The bathroom sliding door wouldn’t stay closed.

I liked the room! It was very clean and I think it was newly renovated.
There are other businesses in the building, so the first floor lobby can be busy. I felt like staff on the first floor were surprised that I was staying at the hotel. It was kind of awkward.

We picked this hotel because its location, sits on W 48 St between 6th Ave and 5th Ave, right next to Rockefeller Center.
The hotel is brand new (opening on March 2026), and beautifully appointed, very modern and clean. Check-in process was done in a self-serve kiosk, but there is a staffed reception counter on the third floor. The elevator system for us was new; you type in your floor, flash your keycard, and the system assigns you a car (A1-A4), you step in, and off you go!
The room... Our King bed room was usable, but tiny, with barely 15 inches between the bed and the walls, the bathroom was small too (about 3ft by 9 ft) with a small outside sink (if you travel with a lot of beauty products you'll have issues), butthe bed was very comfortable. The room is listed as 242 sq-ft, but felt more like 90 sq-ft. We were telling a staff member that you couldn't roll out of the bed, and he jokingly said "Sounds like a plus!" 😂
The hotel has four dinning options, The Parlor on the 3rd level, Bar Rocco on the 2nd, Bar Messa on the 1st, and Messa in the basement. All excellent!
The staff was amazing! We remember Macarena, Lupe and Juan from Messa; Felipe, Tom and Derick from Bar Rocco; Edouardo, Leyla (and her cat Massi!), Hiram and Ramsey from Jade Rabbit; Veronica and Berkys from the Parlor. Jerry, Mark, Daniel, Mike and Tawney also helped us with minor requests.
Bottom line, the new Kimpton Era Midtown NYC was a 5-star experience, and will book it again whenever we come back.

Lets start with they have no doorman to help with luggage so you are on your own . Kimpton started in SFO and was well known for accepting and welcoming pets. This hotel was awful did not have bowls or anything related to pets at check in or in room .Now for the elevator system.. OMG !!! What happened to simply up or down. Its a confusing system and they do not takethe time to expalin or show you - yes you are assigned an elevator and confusing to even use. You open the door to the room and there is your shoebox. Small even for NYC . You can not have a big suit case ,City view FALSE - next building over with no view except their windows looking directy in your room. Let us not forget the fire alarm test at 7 am with the loud man coming over the speaker in each room - The alarm continues to go off every 10 minutes for several hours. NO way of getting any rest or sleep . Staff is not super friendly or out going in anyway. Bill Kimton would shutter if he saw this hotel . Best advise never stay here . Location is the only plus .
