The hotel does not look like the pictures on Expedia. The building is breaking, the wifi does not work and the bathroom did not work. The pools did not look inviting.

The beach was right next to the hotel and there was a nifty little museum down the road. Also had an ATM a couple of blocks away and a delightful and delicious restaurant nearby. The staff were helpful and kind towards us despite us not knowing a lot of Spanish. The rooms were cozy and great for the price. We liked it so much we stayed a second time on our return drive to Mexico City!

Was great. I definitely recommend. The only problem I have was the parking lot is not very much space, but is very secury and quiet, beautiful view on the beach

OK but needs upgrade
The rooms are clean. The property is showing its age but the staff is good. I hear an upgrade is coming. Avoid the pools except for the view.

6/10 Good

It's a little better than it looks
Seeing the hotel from the outside made me want to turn around and find another place. The outside of the hotel was filthy. Fortunately, it was much cleaner inside. The room (though I can't understand why they painted it bright blue like they did) was also pretty clean, had a comfortable bed and decent bathroom with a good shower. The room faced the ocean, though the way it was set up, was almost pointless. I'm no architect, but with a potential view like that, why not a balcony? Instead they give you a desk that is too small to use, some cubby holes for the suitcases and windows that were so dirty I could barely see through them. At night a giant flood light shined directly into them turning them into a glowing white. The thin curtains did very little to block out the unwanted light. Wifi in the room was intermittent. We had some very hot weather and it would had been nice to take a dip in the pool, but it was also very dirty and (this being January) permanently in a shadow cast by the hotel. The Buffet style breakfast included two types of scrambled eggs, a small portion of fruit, coffee and some orange colored drink that might have had a percentage of juice in it. Breakfast was best when I got out there early. By 9:30 there was almost nothing left. Occasionally they put out fried banana chips which were really good, but they disappeared quickly. The hotel service was minimal, but friendly. Personally I've carried my bags 2000 miles and don't mind carrying them a few more feet to my room. The maids did a good job cleaning the room every day. Location was okay, there doesn't seem to be much of a premium for being next to the beach in this town. I was told by some locals on 3 occasions that the water is polluted from the oil companies, so few people swim. But still, lots of people take walks and morning jogs on the beach walk. It stretches a pretty good distance. There was a playground close by which was also very popular.
