A little disappointing

Hotel was in a great location and room was nicely laid out and spacious. I do think it was overpriced for the following reasons: There were a couple of bits which could have been cleaned to a higher standard. One example being my daughter ended up with a pimple patch stuck to her from a previous guest! The shower did not drain very well so you were standing in a pool of water for the entire shower. Also, there are works going on outside the front of the hotel, which started with an early delivery at 6 in the morning of what sounded like rocks or stones. Then work began just before 8 with the very loud throwing of stones into the back of a truck. It was far from the calm and relaxing morning we had hoped for.

Stayed here several times. Very central but quiet. Nice rooms etc. The staff on reception are always very pleasant. Only reason I marked it down was that housekeeping started knocking on doors at 9am. That is far too early given that check out is 11.

We went for a birthday getaway and thought it was great. Handy location, friendly and attentive staff, and comfortable room. The breakfast hamper was lovely, not had that elsewhere and it felt like quite the treat. The room could have done with some minor TLC, but that's being picky. Would go back.

The perfect place to stay in Oxford

This is the perfect place to stay in Oxford - a short walk from the station, central and very welcoming. I had a single room for one night - it was fresh, clean and had all the amenities one would expect including an ironing board - not always found in single rooms. White company soap dispensers - the brand is always a good sign. A very comfortable night indeed.

Lovely hotel and perfectly situated

Amazing hotel. Very pleased we decided to upgrade to the superior 'room' (was like a small flat). Nicely decorated and a great feel of the history of the place. Absolutely massive bath was amazing! Minor let downs for us were 1) can't be helped but there were road works outside and the room provided was on the ground floor so it was noisy, couldnt open windows etc. 2) the mattress was like a bread board (not what we were used to so personal pref). The combo resulted in a tricky nights sleep and an early wake up. That being said I would still recommend and would happily stay again. Yeah hotel itself is situated near everything in central Oxford..so was a minute away from all the bars and the theater we went to. Breakfast was incredible and served in a cute little hamper.

My second visit and I would stay there again; it suits my needs perfectly. It was clean and comfortable; I had a lovely room in the eves. I loved the coffee machine and everything you might need – iron, ironing board, water, and extra heater. lovely.
