Daegu offers great things to do with kids, even if it is full of places with history and tradition. It’s a delight to walk through Hangae Village in Seongju – designated as an important folk cultural asset, together with missionary residences, and Geundae Alley – home to a Gothic cathedral.
Various theme parks including a hot spring park and an eco theme park where colourful festivals are held are perfect for families. In Daegu, which is famous for its summer heat, the river archipelagos are also popular with families wanting to stay cool.

Geundae Alley
Take a walk down contemporary lane
- Couples
- Families
- Group
Geundae Alley begins with former missionary residences at Cheongna Hill and leads to a pine tree path. Although Korea’s independence movement from the Japanese started on March 1, it started later on the 8th in Daegu because this pine tree path was guarded by Japanese guards.
At the end of the path you'll find Gyesan Catholic Cathedral, a towering Gothic cathedral and home to this area’s cathedra. The former homes of resistance poet Yi Sang-hwa and nationalist activist Seo Sang-don are well preserved here and remind visitors of the history of the Japanese occupation period.

Hajung Island was created when the Geumho River’s flow rate slowed at a certain point and sediment accumulated.
The island is appreciated in all seasons by couples looking for romantic outings, thanks to the beautiful rapeseed blossoms in the spring and garden cosmos in the autumn. It’s a great spot for taking photos with your partner or family with the beautiful scenery serving as the backdrop.
