I stayed here many many years ago when it was the Strathcona and I can tell you that it has improved 1000%. Everything about the hotel and all the little touches are amazing. I love the raccoon mascot and all the different ways that the raccoon is incorporated around the property, including the graffiti on the side of the building. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the layout of the room was well designed for a small space and the café downstairs was great. The location is incredibly convenient and I would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at the hotel overall. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and the shower was honestly amazing! 😮 The front desk staff were cordial, professional, and answered all of my questions properly. My only issue was that there was work being done directly outside my window, which disturbed my sleep and caused me to wake up earlier than I had planned. It would have been greatly appreciated to receive a heads-up about any facility repairs or exterior work taking place during the stay, especially if it may affect guests’ ability to sleep. Outside of that, I really enjoyed my stay and had a positive experience overall.

I’d rate 3.5 stars if I could. Overall, a decent hotel stay—the bed is comfortable and most typical amenities are present. Staff are (generally) friendly and willing to assist. Concerns: 1) There was not a safe in my room, so I didn’t feel comfortable with having valuables on site. 2) Difficulty requesting a different hand soap. The one provided has a pungent scent and I have ASD, so I asked for an alternative (I would have been happy with dish soap, if it smelled better!). I was told by customer service they had no alternatives at present; they were empathetic and apologized for the inconvenience, which I understood completely, and simply bought my own soap instead. Housekeeping, on the other hand (later on in the stay, they brought up an iron I’d requested) told me it was my fault for not telling the hotel in advance that I wanted something different, because they only keep “one soap on site at all times”. As a first time guest here, I had no idea of the scent, and had never had this problem at a hotel before. I brushed it off as a bad day as I didn’t have further interactions with her, but it was an unnecessary and illogical response to a simple request already dealt with. 3) My issue to own, but I didn’t take into account that the metro system is directly beneath. I could feel the subways moving underground—it felt like being in an airplane as it tilts sideways, and gave me bad vertigo. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay. Would stay again if not for the vertigo.

Booked this hotel for the location and we were not disappointed. Perfect to walk to all the interesting bits of Toronto (harbour front, CN Tower, St Lawrence Market etc). Room and hotel were average but clean and comfortable. Expensive - as all hotels are in big cities. No parking but did find a car park nearby which we prepaid to reduce the cost.

The room was very small, no ventilation at all. No bathroom fan. Build up of dust on all the trim, and very poorly lit. It was also a surprise to wake up to workers looking into our room from outside of our 3rd floor window at 7:30am. Yelling to one another while scraping the paint/caulking from the window sill. Not a pleasant or relaxing stay to say the least. Will not be returning.
