The hotel is an older hotel in a decent location. The first thing we noticed was a beat up looking coffee table and a mini frig with dents. Otherwise, I guess the room was good. The room wasnt cleaned one day of our 7 night stay. Other days the towels and washcloths were not replaced or the maid service said they didnt have enough clean washcloths for every room. You could only watch TV if you signed in to your own Netflix or YouTube account, otherwise there was no TV service. We did enjoy the proximity to a Walgreens and several restaurants. We were in town to visit family, and it was a decent price hotel for Manhattan.

Well-located, Friendly, and Inexpensive
This was our fourth stay at Hotel 57. We choose to stay there because of its wonderful staff, convenient and safe location, relative quietness, and good prices. The place is clean enough, but the duvet covers on the comforters are drab, and the couch in our room this time was old and uncleanable and should really be replaced.

Worn and getting worse
The rooms are dated considering they renovated the lobby, restaurant and other outlets in the hotel. The overall room is clean just dated and worn. My biggest issue this time and i have stayed there for years so i have noticed the decline is the overall maintenance of the rooms and cleaning. There was debris from the a/c heating vent for two days never cleaned, the vents had stains on them. the paper to inform you there is no cable tv is photocopied on a fax machine and is barely readable due to lack of ink. No one tells you this so if you don't read of take this paper you wont know. The elevators are dusty and not clean. a fresh coat of paint, dusting and polish the brass are simple ways to keep the condition looking well.

Check in was very quick, and the front desk workers were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in a great location. It could use a bit of upgrading, and the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Overall, it was a good value and worked well for this trip.

All staff at the hotel were extremely kind, polite, and helpful. There needs to be more outlets in the room and not all light switches worked. Throughout the night there was a heavy odor of marijuana in the hall outside our room.

I'll stay here again!
The hotel is very well located and very good value for money. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, had all basic amenities (including an iron/ ironing board), and the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel does not have dining facilities so you have to go out for breakfast, but there are a number of close and reasonable options.

Fine for Sleeping, Few Amenities and Frills
Room was tiny. Very limited amenities. No frills. The website did a good job making it look nicer than it is. Nothing was wrong per se, we were just surprised upon arrival at how basic it was. Perfectly fine if you aren’t looking to spend a lot of time at the property. No shampoo or conditioner, just a bar of soap.

Filthy Room, Clicking Radiator, & Unhelpful Staff
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! A terrible experience. Walls had uncleaned liquid spills, fabrics were stained, dirt/filth on sheets. Radiator repeatedly made a click sound - every other second - that made it impossible to sleep. When we spoke to the General Manager, Gabriel, he apologized and said that if we reached out to Hotels.com about a refund, he would authorize it. Based on his word, we quickly checked-out and moved to a new hotel. When Hotels.com reached out to the Lux 57 about a refund, they did not respond which, per Hotels.com, equates to a refund denial. I spoke to the AGM, and multiple front desk attendants and none were able to resolve the issue. I left messages and sent emails, but never received a response from the GM. Gross room and deceitful service.
