The hotel is located very close to the town centre & an easy walk from/to the train station. Our room was okay, but the water for the shower didn't get very warm. Our sink drained very slowly too and the toilet was difficult to flush. The gym was outstanding - by far the best I have used in a hotel. We didn't have breakfast as the price was crazy expensive and there are plenty of food shops & cafes in the vicinity of the hotel. The staff were very pleasant. The only issue I thought was a little off. In Hotels.com description it implies that tea & coffee is available in reception, which it is, but at hotel charges. I understood from the description this was offered to hotel guests as a complimentary service. I suppose I was a little naive.

Nice solo stay

Nice location, would be nicer if they advised you which car park is their concession car park before you get there. Lots of takeaways nearby, and shopping centre next door. Room was clean, and plenty of pub games in the foyer to play.

Lovely interior with spacious rooms with everything you could need for a 2 nights stay, only complaint is the noise outside the hotel if you leave the window open due to being on the high street but cant fault the hotel for that one. Would recommend to anyone staying in reading

Good hotel spoilt by some problems

Nice hotel and friendly staff but asked for quiet room and heard the noise from nearby nightclub for most of the night; TV wouldn’t work as someone had apparently stolen the chrome cast stick and it kept turning off; bedside lights didn’t work; there were no USB sockets anywhere so we couldn’t charge our phones.

Would give it a miss

Room was a bit dated with no double glazing so being right next to a major duel carrigeway was very noisy. Biggest issue the curtains didnt cover the windows which i didnt find out till 530am the next morning which was shocking. Went to check out and asked for the invoice which the night manager lied and said he couldnt give it to me, after relaising he had made a mistke tried to back track cliaming notes had been left about me and that its a Hotels.com issue. All of the shift people were sat around and had to corral to even get them to engage, appeciate its a rubbish shift but they were so rude. Needless to say I wont be staying here again or the pentahotel group if this is the quality,
