The loft rooms are amazing
We booked a loft room and it was excellent. We loved the space in the living area and the open fire. They even had an area where you could chop and collect more firewood for free. We saw lots of deer from our balcony which was really special. The kitchen was well equipped with a huge fridge freezer and everything you could need. The best were comfortable and it was quiet, warm and cosy. The pool was shut but there was still slides and the outdoor hot tub open. The hot tub didn't seemed to be manned and there was a snowball fight between a group of kids in the hot tub and some kids on the balcony nearby so it wasn't quite as relaxed as I'd imagined but it was a lovely area for the peaceful 5 minutes I spent in there before all the kids arrived. The area is beautiful and with free bus passes into Banff we didn't even have to use the car. We got there a couple of hours early to check in and our room was ready, so we were allowed our room earlier which was really lovely and meant we could unload the car and get out and enjoy ourselves sooner so we were very thankful for that. I would definitely want to stay here again if I was ever in Banff and would highly recommend it to anyone. The upgrade to the loft room was truly amazing and the views were beautiful.

Never A Bad Time To Be In Banff!
Great place if you have young children, or just want an inexpensive place to stay. Property is certainly showing its age but was comfortable and clean. Water park and indoor play structure help keep the littles entertained on days with poor weather.

The place has a cosy atmosphere, it feels like home. It has everything we need. The only issue we had was the key card was faulty. I have to go back and forth to the front desk to reactivate the key cards, which was not really much of a problem

Very good value accommodation for Banff
Stayed in one of the cabin apartments. Main bed and pull-down murphy bed were both comfortable, room was clean, especially the bathroom. We were on the main (ground) floor, there would be potential for noise from the room above if you had thoughtless neighbours. Free wood for the open fire is a nice touch. Very good range of TV channels available. Kitchen appliances are dated but everything you need is there. The free buss pass if you want it is a very good idea and the stop is right outside. Check-in staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.

Great hospitality! Great people! A bit outdated but well maintained with cozy vibe. They had everything what we needed, outdoor indoor hot-tub, fireplace in the room, roam bus tickets, underground parking and the best view! There was some issue with shower water but they quickly tried to check and made everything right. Our family enjoyed our stay so much!

Fun family place
We had a great time at douglas fir. Nice family oriented place with two water slides and an outdoor hot tube. The housekeeping was not so great. There was dust all over the place along the edge of the carpet and on appliances. Having said that, they do have an indoor real wood fireplace so that woudl be difficult to keep clean.

4/10 Fair

The hotel has a lot of good amenities. Good location too. However, the fan was quite loud, we were there basically for a good night sleep after a long day and the noise was annoying the entire night. The sofa bed was not comfortable. the bathroom light was flashing. the underground heated parking and bus pass was great. the staff are nice too.

Terrible
It is a very I’ll maintained oldest of the old property. The fire place looked like as if never cleaned in last 100 years. The hold water supply was erratic. In the middle of the shower, the water would suddenly turn very cold or will never warm up in the beginning. The doors and windows had a terrible draught of chilled air coming in. I wouldn’t mind spending some extra bucks for the actual comfort and services that they offer on their page.

Room is a bit older but it was ok. The only issue we had was that the heater was not working and the exhaust fan didn’t seem to be working it’s the bathroom which made it very humid.
