Connecticut is a state in New England marked by coastal cities and quaint small towns as well as its collection of museums, animal exhibits, university culture and scenic coastline. At the Mystic Seaport Museum, you are able to see ships that are centuries old. The Mystic Aquarium offers the chance to see beluga whales and learn about their ecology, plus see penguins, sea lions and other creatures. New Haven, on Long Island Sound, is the home of Yale University and hosts the iconic Peabody Museum of Natural History.

The state is also home to the Mark Twain House & Museum, the birthplace of the famous author. The Yale University Art Gallery offers outstanding collections of art by Rauschenberg, Rothko and Rubens, among other iconic artists.
