We love the Cortez!
My husband and I have been partial to this hotel and casino since before we were married. At check-in the system went down and we had to wait and it didn't even detract from the visit really. Everyone is super helpful and friendly and the machines in the casino are better than other local places.

Clean and friendly
Downtown Las Vegas and the hotel remind me of the "old Vegas" I first visited in the 1980s. I don't care for the glitz of the mega-resorts on the strip. And certainly not for the crowds and the need to queue for just about anything. So for that reason I like this hotel. There is no luxury here, but the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly.

Disappointed. Felt no one cared if I had an issue.
Cool place to stay. Old school, great casino and food. Negative..broken safe. Took 6 hours to have someone show up to repair. Stayed three nights and only one day housekeeping.when booking promised water and coffee so missed a day of that. Also I booked room through 3 rd party ( hotels.com). When I checked in they only had a smoking room. I said no so it cost me an additional $100 for another room. Not happy about that. Complained to front desk nothing happened!

Great Fremont St. DTLV Stay
The 2022 remodel totally refreshed and updated the rooms. Parking is free and the structure has security. Fabulous location for Fremont St. and DTLV (downtown Las Vegas) food, art and entertainment. While we only visited one bar on the property, the gaming, Starbucks and other areas looked nice. The staff at every point of our stay were fabulous. We are local and will definitely be back.

My room was never clean by housekeeping and I would have to call to get towels and and amenities that I was charge for each day. The shower was leaking water so the floor would get all wet. Not a good stay with the El Cortez very in happy.
