Was originally sceptical about this hotel given some of the reviews, however was impressed by the price given the easy and quick transport to manhattan so booked it - and i would absolutely book this hotel again. I came with my boyfriend for 4 nights on a christmas trip to New York and this hotel was the perfect base for us. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the subway station and 1 stop on the M or F train to Roosevelt island and just 10 minutes to Times Square - even less to Central Park, 5th ave, etc. There are reviews mentioning the area being unsafe, and whilst I can’t say it was necessarily a ‘nice area’ - there was a few homeless people, interesting characters and a strong smell of weed almost everywhere, neither me or my boyfriend felt uncomfortable or unsafe at all. There is also quite a few options for food nearby. All the staff we spoke to were kind and helpful and the room was nice, clean, and had a surprisingly great view. Something I really appreciated was the number of power outlets in the room, there was even a usb-c port on the bedside table ! Small things to note : none of these bothered us but the mattress had a plastic covering on it which did make noise and the sheet was very thin (however there was ac and heating which worked very well so wasn’t cold) also they do charge $20 to store baggage after checking out. Overall, very good hotel for the price, location and quality.

The decor is simple, modern, and very clean. I've walked into hotel rooms that were absolutely skeevy and made my skin crawl just to look at it. This room was very welcoming, and I slept very well.

Good for a cheap and short day (we stayed one night). Very few in room amenities besides an air conditioner, ice bucket, tv, iron, hair dryer, shampoo & conditioner, soap and a few hangers. We ordered food which was conveniently delivered to our room. It didn’t come with utensils. We had to walk to the nearest open bodega to get some because the front desk didn’t have which was inconvenient. Cheap but relatively clean stay, would stay here again. It’s about a 10 min walk to the F train.

Walked in the lobby and up to the “ reception” area to a young woman blankly starring out from behind a small opening in the plastic guard.
She asked for $20 (cash only) for an early check in. The room was clean & basic. The elevator was pretty filthy. Towels were thin & small, as were the pillows. The neighborhood is a complete fright. Garbage everywhere. People laying on the pavement. Large groups hanging in front of businesses smoking whatever.
The place was cheap enough. Otherwise it’s a below basic spot with no hospitality that seems to be on the outskirts of a third world war zone.
Do yourself a favor. Take a pass !

The staff were nice. There was a young lady there who was friendly and helpful. But literally my room wasn’t cleaned properly. My first day I walked in I saw a Dorito chip crumb near my bathroom door. My bath towel had hair on it and my toilet didn’t seem to flush properly. Also there was no mini fridge in my room until my last night staying there. Plus my remote didn’t work.
It’s a neat hotel , newly renovated but those things made it not a good experience for me. Other than that it would’ve been a great stay. It’s near a sub station which is a plus. And it’s a few restaurants up the street from it. The locals don’t bother you either .

Staff were nice. It was a short walk to the subway to get to Manhatten. AC worked well.
It was very noisy at all different timea of night regardless of the day of the week. Construction, loud cars, ppl on street talking in middle of night, and icecream truck playing ita music at 10:30pm. Felt unseasy at times in the surrounding streets. Wouldn't feel comfortable walking alone as a female.
Our room wasn't cleaned daily. It was very random, to be honest. Sometimes bed and towels changed and rubbish removed, and other times rubbish left, but beds were made. We kept only getting 2 towels even though there were 4 of us. Shower head wasn't good. Shampoo was in a sachet that you needed to tear while in the shower all wet and slippery.
We constantly found long black hair on the towels, floor, etc. We are all blond or have short hair. Bedding had some stains and marks on them. Linen/towels could do with an update.
Several times our room card didnt work and we needed to go to reception to reset it.
It served its purpose I spose and fortunately we didn't spend much time in the room or surrounding area. Probably wouldn't stay again.

Fridge in room! (This is great for insulin users) Very clean. Not a lot of options nearby for food, toilet paper (they will not give you another roll!), etc. but Seamless delivers there. A ouple of crazy overpriced and understocked vending machines downstairs but there are tables there where you can eat your own food, & a microwave. Good value overall, would stay again.
