Wander the historic waterfront where tall ships bob beside seafood restaurants serving chowder that could convert non-believers. The star-shaped Citadel offers city views worth every step of the climb, plus soldiers in period uniforms who never break character. Art Gallery of Nova Scotia showcases maritime creativity while Neptune Theatre stages productions that punch above their weight. Maritime Museum of the Atlantic tells tales of Titanic connections with artifacts that survived when passengers didn't. Chateau Bedford, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
"We spent 4 nights at the chateau Bedford and have only good things to say about our stay. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, we had a minor issue in our room and maintenance was able to rectify it by the time we came back in the evening. Everything was clean, and the breakfast buffet was by far the best we have ever experienced in a Canadian hotel! The selection was impressive and unexpected. The serving staff was friendly and efficient and their lattes were a great way to start the day. The nights were quiet with very minimal noise from hallways or the outside. (Our room was facing the front parking. Would stay again in a heartbeat next time we are in Halifax area."

- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be pricier, but with Halifax's outstanding public transit options, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there’s often excellent value for money to be found.
